no he’s ranked 32 out of 32 qualifying QBs in passer rating, some of which are backups. I didn’t “mean” anything with the figure, I just shared a statistical fact. The rest of your post is silly, it’s nothing personal. And no way does he last as starter for multiple seasons as the 32nd ranked QB. Those guys get replaced
Yeh, I hear you. If he is anything he is a long term thinker, and he knows how to get best value. He is never going to give up the Crown Jewels. You got to wonder what he is planning for Brown, Fant and even Becton moving forward.
TBH, I don’t think giving a 1st for Tunsil is a bad move. I’d actually like it a lot tbh. We’d have Becton hoping to salvage his NFL career, solid Backups in Mitchell and Brown and a solid middle. Who are we hoping for in the 1st rn; a rockstar LB? I’d rather have Tunsil. If JD pulls off a 3rd for Hall, I’d throw that in too.
I’m also wondering, if Mims looks serviceable and Moore shines, if we could get a 2nd for Corey Davis. He’s dirt cheap next year, a seasoned vet and is very familiar with this system. I can think of a team who could use a guy that checks all those boxes.
No, what's "silly" is your belief that JD and Saleh are relying on statistics like this over what they see in practice, games, and all the other interactions they have with Zach (and any other players)...no offense. And you didn't fully read and comprehend my comment which was: "...if he continues to perform as he has been", which is to say that he continues to improve, and get better, thus not remaining as the 32nd rank QB or whatever. If he were not improving, JD and Saleh would not have him remain as the starter, nor would he have led them to 4 straight tough wins. Hard to believe I know, but true.
You seem to be a lot more clueless than I thought and a lot less intelligent. Try to apply a little bit of logic this time, and let's get on the same page. I said 6-2 is an opportunity and felt JD could improve OLine, which had injuries. You then made a completely moronic statement that these who think this is an opportunity show SOJ attitude. Yes, this is a completely clueless. I showed that JD just spent a 5th round pick when our running back went down. He is a buyer now, because we have a chance to win this season. In pervious years, when we were losing and rebuilding, a lot of the trades were to gain picks, like Avery Williamson and others. The suggestion to spend assets to improve depleted OLine is along the same lines as improving depleted RB. 6-2, if we can get there, is an opportunity. That's why JD spent and he might do this again. To say this is SOJ thinking is simply idiotic. Although now I see you used word "fluke" to make your statement less dumb.
Why waste your time dude? You’re better off just ramming your head through a wall. You’ll have less of a headache than trying to explain “rocket science” to this guy
We are on a winning streak and we have all accepted that Zach is on a very low risk game plan, particularly with such a weak OL against the pass. Is your though that this is a crucial statistic for passer rating we should all be concerned about without question, excluding other factors such as team game planning, leading versus trailing in the game, effectiveness of the running game, etc, etc. What can we do with it? 32-32 and on a 4 game winning streak? Because truth be told at least 20 or more of those teams having a higher rated QB, would jump all over Zach for his potential and pass on theirs. Stats in a vacuum.
Not sure why you are directing this at me, when I have been the one saying the team is moving in the right direction even since we got JD, then Saleh, then Zach, etc... Good teams though, including the ones that have recently already been to SB, do things like this when the opportunity is right: https://www.espn.com/blog/los-angel...s-make-another-bold-move-for-super-bowl-title Let's see what happens when on Sunday we hopefully get to 6-2. I am not ruling out a bold move by JD. And no, this has nothing to do with SOJ.
Let me phrase my original thought differently and see if we can get on the same page. To me, when I hear you seem to get excited and use a word like opportunity, it comes across like a “once in a lifetime” type of opportunity. Maybe you mean “now is the time” as in “the time is finally here” and I took it as you meaning “now is a rare opportunity”? ps. I never said soj. I said sojf. The types of people C Simms talks about. People who at best would say “now is a rare opportunity”
Davis is our best receiver and two of our young guys have asked for trades. We would nuts to trade him now. We could always cash in that chip AFTER our other receivers have proven they are worth a damn.
We need to work the phones with teams that are throwing in the towel on this season and get the guys that they don't want to risk losing for nothing during the offseason.
Funny enough I was putting clips of Simms in another thread, saying I was agreeing with him. Looking at your other posts, we are actually in agreement on what is taking place in the organization. Opportunity doesn't mean once in a lifetime opportunity. You misunderstood and misjudged. Hopefully we are on the same page now.
I’m certainly not advocating for us to trade CD…. In fact I was anti-trade him when people mentioned it this past off-season…But if the young WRs do well tomorrow and there’s a very nice offer, I wouldn’t be surprised or mad especially if that trade allows us to bring in Tunsil.
The Jets aren't trading Corey Davis while they have any chance of competing this season. They brought him in to be a more competitive team and now that they are more competitive keeping the vets who are performing is the way to go. Just in case people have forgotten somehow the wins against the Browns and the Steelers both depended on key plays that he made late.
We need to be careful what we wish for. The offense is still in flux. OL is iffy against the pass to say the least. Two of our young receivers have asked for a trade because of the lack of touches. Davis loves this team but is hurt at the moment. The playbook as currently constituted can not accommodate everyone's wishes offensively. This is not KC, or Buffalo or GB style of offense where the QBs are top of the line and the pass is king. With all these variables, at this moment, trading a top reciever that actually wants to be here and keeping one that wants to be traded is not a smart play in my opinion. Depending on how Moore is utilized tomorrow will tell us plenty as to his role moving forward, and how Mims fairs after getting Davis touches might be an indicator of his future as well. All I want for Christmas is a trip to the playoffs, and we need to staff our personnel accordingly. Tomorrow is a huge, pivoting day for us.
