I would prefer the Jets re-sign Braylon Edwards. He is the type of vet receiver we need as a stopgap until Hill is ready.

Id like for us to make an attempt at landing Pitta from the Ravens.... Good hands, can take a hit, and is good at blocking.

Yea i would like to see half the NFL on the Jets unfortunatley we keep drafting 10 year projects and signing low level free agents, lets not forget we also might trade ourr best player

Davis will be cheaper than he would have been healthy but he will not be had for a bargain. He played in WCO with Sanchez back at USC; he would be good fit.

The redskins already let him become a UFA. So I don't get the Redskins "letting him go" comment. Also, the RG3 reference is moot; it's not like he would take less money to stay with RG3. Like most NFL players, he'll go wherever the money is.

Let me add that Fred Davis wasn't really gelling with RG3 prior to his injury.

Delanie Walker drops the ball a lot. He dropped 30% of his catchable targets. He is an all round guy but I would rather see us go elsewhere first with emphasis on a pass catcher.

EDIT: Delanie Walker benefited from being the 3rd/4th receiver much of the time. Is he ready to step up and be the 2nd (my ideal TE would be)? I don't think so.

Fred Davis didn't get a long term deal from the Redskins after his best ever season (796 yards in 12 games). He was franchise tagged then didn't play that great before his injury. I don't think the Redskins will offer him what he wants.

Steven Jackson is an interesting player as well. He would fill a much needed position but would he be willing to come to the Jets?

No on Steven Jackson. The guy has taken a beating behind a bad offensive line for most of his career. He was a great back but his best days are way behind him. Especially at RB, you have to go young because their lifespans are so short. I hope we draft Stepfan Taylor in the 2nd round. I'd be fine with Bernard or Lacy as well.

I think this is a great opportunity for us to get younger at our positions of need.
I'm all for a few good FA signings but I don't support picking up any of the over the hill gang of players and taking a roster spot from a younger guy.

I'm kinds interested in Pitta but would the ravens give him up ? .. probably not.

I wouldn't mind Harvin but he is in high demand.. no way we pick him up

We need to quit overpaying shiny FAs and develop players through the draft. No thanks to both.

That's all very well and good when you have enough draft picks to fill the holes in our roster. We don't, therefore we must use Free Agency. I'm not saying we should throw money at the problem, but getting good value for players is a must.

We need a quick twitch receiver, not a fast receiver.

Hill ran some nice routes last year and is tough to bring down. We knew he was a project and is why he went in the second with his measurables. He should be running the gauntlet everyday until he is catching balls in his sleep.

Also, Sanchez did not throw to him very well last year, and with the wco he could be a 60 catch guy this year.
