We draft Sanchez and Clemens starts while Sanchez is developed. If Clemens has a great year we have a great situation where Clemens value as either our QB or someone elses jumps up to a 1. We still have the rights to Clemens after this year. Sanchez with a year on the bench and maybe some impressive mop up duty is still a No. 1 pick with 1 year with a pro program and the same age as everyone coming out. I don't see any down side to this.
My only fear is that we walk away from today without a solid player that can contribute right away, preferably on offense.
Guys, Sorry to piss anyone off or upset any of you, but like the post says 40 years of watching things go wrong can make a mind work like this... My bottom line is I really don't want to give up any picks to draft a QB be it Sanchez or Freemen this year. I want the Jets to fill need and draft depth this year and allow the two kids we already have at QB to have a fair chance to be all they can be. If they are as bad as many of you believe, then next year we will be better positioned to draft a franchise QB and not give any picks to do so...
