My worst fear is that we draft Vernon Gholston... Again!

I'm not sure why people are so down on drafting Pettigrew and Harvin. Particularly, if we are able to trade down and get value. At this point all prospects have clear flaws b/c everyone has had time to pick them apart.

My real worst fear is that we don't draft the best damn football player. Whether he be on defense or offense.

What will PSL's is a winning team, drafting either Sanchez or Freeman will not win any more games. Drafting Crabtree/Maclin/Moreno/Wells/Brown or any of the D talent out there will help us immediately. If needed add a qb next year after the ones we have now had a shot to prove their worth. Don't waste our picks on qbs... the 2010 class is much better

David Carr proves the point of why you don't want a QB starting on a bad team though. He was a decent QB behind a terrible O-line that got hammered into mediocrity and he'll never have a good NFL career because of it.

The reason why QBs sit is mental, so that they can learn the pace of the pro game and how to do 3 things in one play like audible around a defense, fake a snap count and check off to a 3rd or 4th option in 2.5 seconds or less before they have someone like Jason Tuck up their ass.

Thanks, peversely, to Farve, we bought a great O-line, so we have the luxury of being able to take a rookie QB and not have to worry about him getting David Carr'd into the hospital, plus Ryan has experience bringing a kid along from his time last year with Flacco. That said, Clemens and Ratliff are still unknown quantities. I'm okay with us drafting for need this year (WR, etc) and giving those guys a year to figure out if they truly suck or not. Then, next year, we'll truly know whether we have to step up and get a QB or not.

I'm hoping we hold at 17, take the best WR on the board, and move up in the second round to get McCoy from Pitt. RB isn't a need right now, but that kid is magic.

Guys don't worry it's the J-E-T-S we are guranteed to do the wrong thing tomorrow. Though I really hope we don't go QB none of these guys are franchise material, so that means Sanchez for sure.

If we draft Freeman, Pettigrew, or move up and take Raji in the top 10, I will throw my tv set out the fucking window.

My worst fear is the Pats have a kick ass draft and dominate us for the next 5 years because of it. They are in great position for this draft they can move up and take some good players.

That's my second biggest fear. I suspect after this draft the "aging linebacker corps" line will sound like a sick joke to Jets fans. They could easily get two starting LBs in this draft and then 3 of 4 LBs will be kiddies.

He has Vernon Davis's blood in him... that's enough for me to not want him.

At this point, I don't think anyone knows what the Jets will or even should do in the draft.
I figure the Jets have several plans based on who is taken early in the draft. I don't think they are going in with the mentality that they have to have a certain player or position, they just have a few targeted. I just think there are certain positions they know they don't need to address. That's just my thinking though. They may have already decided on Sanchez for all I know.
Bottom line is that I don't see anyone on the draft board that is worth giving away a lot to move up to get. However, I wouldn't be against giving up a pick to get a veteran if they are good enough (Boldin).
Worst case, we blow ass this year and get a good pick next year :) And a TV flies out my window.

Funny, my floater looked like Rosie O'Donnell in a trash compactor. Your guess is as good as mine on the implications of that.

Had a dream last night that we drafted Vonte Davis, then traded him for Mark Sanchez in a "shocking deal". I recall feeling awful about drafting a CB, but, when we got Sanchez, it was awesome.

I'm hoping on eating some pizza with my son, drink about a 12 pack of pepsi and maybe get our franchise QB. This is my favorite day of the off season and I cannot fucking wait!!

    HAPPY DRAFT DAY!!

    Well here is my nightmare,

The Jets trade this years 1 & 2 next years 1 & 3 for Mark Sanchez basicly sell the farm to get this kid....

Jets Plan on starting Sanchez but he is unable to catch up to the pro game in his rookie year. This after Schotty cuts his play book down by half to help make it easier for Mark to get going.

Mean while, Clemens who has kept his mouth shut thruout this whole situation is pressed in to action as a stop gap measure till the savior is considered ready.

Clemens then goes on to be the QB everyone expected he would be, when he was taken in the second round. He has a great 2009 season and takes the Jets to the playoffs with a 11-5 record. The Jets get knocked out of the second round after Clemens drives the team down to FG range with only a minute thirty left to break a 13-14 deadlock against the Steelers, only to lose on a missed FG....

While this is going on, the Pats up in NE are having another bad year because Brady's leg has not held up and it looks like his playing days are done.

The following year Clemens becomes a F/A and the Jets wish him to remain as the back up to Sanchez who still struggles to catch up to the speed and complexity of the pro game.

Clemens tells the Jets where they can go and goes up to NE and signs as a F/A for a healthy contract and then goes on to kick the Jets asses for the next seven years.

Years later as a QB coach for the Miami Dolphins he tells a reporter, "They treated me like dirt and never gave me a fair chance until it was too late, so when I went to NE I always looked forward to the payback I was allow to dish out."..

Sanchez went on to be a average QB who was traded to the exspansion LA Stars in his fifth year as a Jets backup, after being beat out by in his second year as a starter by Brett Ratlliff.

Present day head coach Chad Penninton said it was one of the worst moves the Jets ever made and he never understood why after he was traded the Jets did not give Clemens the starting job without question.

Now that is a nightmare folks and if you been a Jets fans fo over 40 years this is the type of shit you can dream up!
