Dunn's a lefty. The numbers show that Shea actually inflates LHB HR's slightly, plus his career numbers at Shea are pretty good.

I'm with you.... I think it might take a little pressure off him to move him around in the lineup... Maybe move him to 2nd, Wright to 3rd and Green to 5th?

He has claimed that he doesn't like batting second, but for weeks the Carli have been a black hole in the middle of the lineup that has killed this team. Willie could shrug that off when they were 15+ games over .500, but I don't understand how he can keep doing it now.

Beltran's problem is probably the nagging quad more than anything.

I really don't see how that leads to him hitting less than .125 with RISP and two outs. I would say he needs to go on the DL since he's hurting the team, but of course with Alou and Chavez out that's not really possible.

Nice call by Cohen - "Fouled away" as it lands fair for a run scoring double.

No, Gary, Henry Aaron wasn't a better all around baseball player than Babe Ruth. Besides being a far better hitter, Ruth was a HoF-caliber pitcher, remember, and Aaron wasn't a great fielder anyway. What Aaron was was the best hitter in ML history in his 30s (well, non drug-aided hitter).

Poor baserunning by Beltran -- you can go halfway+ there. With this lead, you don't NEED that extra base, and the fly ball is already at least one run. Regardless of 2nd or 3rd, you're in scoring position and score on a single.

Delgado intentionally walked. Thought I'd never see it again.

For the first time in seemingly forever, the Mets looked great in almost all aspects of the game... great starting, no dumb errors in the field, no brain farts, clutch hits, Delgado hitting, etc...

braves win and phillies lose, which means we're 1.5 games up on atlanta and 3 up on philly.
