So I looked up news headlines for the last time the Dolphins won a playoff game Sounds like you got a great fanbase down there http://articles.nydailynews.com/2000-12-30/sports/18146532_1_dolphins-afc-east-jason-taylor Maybe more fans would of shown up if they knew it would be your only playoff win of the new millennium
We all this was going to happen today. No big deal...........The Jets WILL have their day! And when they do it is going to feel SOFA KING GOOD!
1st win in the new stadium 1st post season win in the new stadium 1st Superbowl rally in the new stadium The Jets had more then enough chances to make their mark and came up short.
I get everyone's anger, but what does any of this stuff really mean? Giants got embarrassed beyond belief in their last game @ Giants Stadium There were no repercussions from that If Jets win a SB next, then all you will hear is how the the Jets own the stadium Giants fans will through their "history" back at us, but we've got to win one before we can win four
Just like no one should give a crap what a few players say about the Jets, or any other team. Every team has a few players who run their mouths.
its obviously mattered to the Jets or they never would have started this feud with the Giants. We tugged on super mans cape and got embarrassed.
I think every is annoyed because the media and the Giants organization says they are "above" talk and a "classy" franchise when in reality they are just like every other football team that talks. They also refer to themselves as the team of NY, but before now it was never in "question". They seem very afraid and concerned about a Jets much like a "little brother" would instead of a "big brother". You would never hear Yankees players even breathe a word about the Mets after a WS win, let alone think about them or any other team. I think there is more a rivalry between Yankees/Mets than Jets/Giants. EDIT: unless of course that WS win was against the Mets.
Good point....but I think it all starts at the top (well, almost top..cause Woody really seems to have class) personally. If Rex didn't make it into a circus, and trash talked for the last 3 years (trash talking about opposing players, coaches, teams, rings, whatever)......I think the Giant players wouldn't even mention the Jets one bit. But he did...so, he opened up the can of worms, and a few of their players bit, and threw back some jabs. In all this, you have Tom Coughlin not yapping one bit. If he was running his mouth for the last 3 year...I can see why the Jets and fanbase would be pissed at the "classy" organization. But, he didn't.
This is true. Tuck and co. can talk all they want because of this, and we have to sit here and take it (and another reason douchebag Johnson should have got us our own stadium). Bob Papa summed it up nicely - "This team doesn't just talk. It brings home trophies". Got that, Rex?
This is sooo wrong in soooo many ways!!! The Jets can take control of thier own destiny by doing what the Giants did, SUCCEED!! 2nd Fiddle, man screw that I'm GLAD the Giants won because it will taste a whole lot sweeter when we "house" that Lombardi trophy from them in '12!!! We don't deserve SH#T!!?? I'm glad Rex came along & took the Jets out if the dark ages & the CIA-like mandate put forth by Manqueeni! I'm glad Rex gave us looooong-suffering Jets hope for a superbowl with his loud & brash ways!!! I'm proud of what Rex did in his 1st 2 years here than what prev coches have done since mutha'-effin' WEEB!!! I'm GLAD we got REX!!! REX JUST KEEP RIGHT ON TALKIN'!! I'm behind you 1,000%!!! Have faith my Jet bruthas'......! Trust me, 2012 is gonna be the one!!!!
only difference between them and us, is that they talk from a position of strenght whereas our HC just talk
I respectfully disagree.....ever hear "beware of the silent type, they're the one to watch out for". Well...I think that's true with life, and in sports. People keep an eye out for the leaders or loudmouths. It's the quiet ones that come up and attack/beat you when it counts.
Of course what I said doesn't count for every person, or sports figure. Just trying to make a point that if you talk loud enough...you're going to make yourself a target ....instead of being quiet and flying under the radar.
The difference is that Namath backed up his tough talk immediately while Ryan has been yapping for three straight years about the Jets winning the Super Bowl and they haven't even gotten there. Somebody should post the Parcells' quote on Ryan's door: You are what your record says you are.
