Betty Broderick. Well, her husband was a bit of a heel, but that woman is nuts. The last time she came up for parole her demeanor pretty much said yeah, so what, who cares, they deserved it, don't give a shit, not sorry. She is a piece of work. My MIL loved 'The Betty Broderick Story' with Meredith Baxter. It is a total can of cheese, but every time it came on? "What a crazy bitch."
Jody Arias. I'll never be able to grip how she managed to disable Travis Alexander to the point of slitting his throat. Then, she drags dead weight back into the shower stall. How does that happen? She was also pretty damn dumb. Threw the camera into the wash, left a bloody handprint on the wall, and was all huh? I wasn't there. Her hair and DNA was everywhere. What an insane story. Then she tells lies of mysterious people who tried to kill her as Travis was being murdered and she ran for her life. Then she said she did do it but in self defense. Her attorney was losing his mind, but was compelled to stay on the case. The prosecutor was later disbarred. She said she would like to be executed and then reversed herself because it would hurt her family. It really is a wild one.
Bryan Kohbeger got a new venue. This trial will drag on for years. I guess that's part of the strategy.
Yeah, I just read a little on it. Looks similar to what a few of the Supreme Court Justices have been doing.
How would that make any sense as a comparison? Supreme Court Justices don’t campaign, they’re appointed and confirmed for life. Adam’s indictment is solely tied to illegal campaign fund activity. None of the gifts they allegedly received are from foreign entities. Eric Adam’s indictment is tied to foreign entities being involved with his illegal campaign contributions.
Its paid influence, what they have been doing is worse in my opinion. Taking hundreds of thousands in gifts and possibly ruling how those that gave those gifts wanted. They also make rulings that affect the entire country, not just one city.
I don’t think moving it will make one bit of difference. A lot of people (YouTube “influencers “)will just have to change their air bnb plans/have more access to to more hotels. This is going to be one hell of a circus .
The evidence against Eric Adams seems to be pretty damning (from what I've read). He has been under investigation for some time now. We could be here all day listing scandals involving NYC politics - in every major city, really - but small town America is not immune by any stretch.
My thinking is every politician is dirty until proven otherwise but I'm not going to comment anymore on it here. Don't want your guys thread to get shut down.
I think this guy does a good job storytelling true crime cases https://www.tiktok.com/@realraywilliam
Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt. I don't get this one at all (no, I didn't see the recent Lifetime schlock). How did the estranged husband not know where his kids were? If he did, why didn't he keep in touch or visit? Did he pay child support? None of that is addressed. How did Hildebrandt afford a 4,000 sf compound? I saw a 20/20 doc that's kind of old, and I'm going, is this staged? At least partially? Something about it doesn't add up.
OK, I have a good one: Katherine Knight. Holy F, it's one for the ages. I watch Aussie true crime when it's on. My mouth fell open. I was half-going, "C'mon now", until yeah, no. Hold onto your collective hats. She suffered abuse in her past, and paid it forward. She enjoyed working in a slaughter house (her "dream job" - huh?!). She was a bully to her co-workers and a town menace. Fast forward to her relationship with her bf after a 10 yr violent marriage and a couple of kids (she was also very violent). After getting home from just another day at the ole up close and personal blood and guts animal torture playground (she got off on it), she watched TV, had a bite to eat, and woke up her bf to have sex with her. What else is on the menu? If you guessed the bf you'd be right. She stabbed him 37 times, skinned him (at least he was dead), butchered him (her skill from her beloved occupation in the abbatoir), decapitated him, hung him up on a meat hook, and cooked select pieces of his flesh in a bf stew with potatoes and root vegetables. Why she had a meat hook at her bf's house in the first place and slept with her work knives over the head of their bed, I mean, everyone does that, right? I need my knives for work, best to keep them handy! It gets better. She set up plates of stewed bf topped with gravy, potatoes, & veggies for his children, who were not home at the time with name cards for them like a wedding. She ate half a plate of stewed bf before swallowing a bottle of pills and passing out . . . with her bf's head next to her . . . in case he wanted a cuddle? She couldn't have cared less under police interrogation. I did it, he made me mad, whatever, we done? Flat affect. Wild. She's the only female prisoner in Australia to ever get life without parole. Edit: autocorrect.
