while that may be true, it doesnt really matter if he is as good as suh, all that matters is thats how he wants to be paid. if im him i hold out for that, and force them to tag me.

This is true. Both Mo and Richardson will cost us a lot more if they have dbl digit sacks on their resumes.

It doesn't work that way. If he holds out the year he does not get credit for that year and is still under the option year terms in 2016 and would be eligible for the tag in 2017.

He had no workout bonus in his contract currently. All they are doing is film and weight room. This is such a non story at this time.

With the signing of the Pats running back Ridley for some strange reason I feel a possible trade coming. If anyone
else feels this please reply Yes or No. But I think we trade Mo and maybe our pick for another QB.

I agree with this 100%. I think if Mariotta somehow falls to 6, we will be trading that pick and Mo for a Brees or Rivers. Just a gut feeling....

I was posting on the Douz thread about a possible link to the Jets considering trading Wilkerson, but ftr I am not sure how to feel about that. I guess there are two levels, one of course being as with any trade it depends what the total package is and what the Jets get in return. On that since the Qb situation right now is SO unsettled, and assuming it is a trade that addresses Qb, whether Mariota or a vet Qb, I just might be on board for such a deal, but am not sure.

But on whether Wilk is irreplaceable, I don't think so. I like Douz not so much to make him a starter replacing Wilk, but with Harrison and Richardson, probably moving Coples back to the line, and Douz, you've got a good rotation and quality starters at DL. Add in the factor that we don't know what Wilkerson's agent is demanding, but we can take into account that something has been holding up a deal with him, and imo we need to consider just how well the Jets could do without him going forward.

As of now this is all speculation, but I do think there's something to it.

More than a gut feeling, there is reason to think there's something to it.

those would both be horrenoudous crippling trades
i dont see how signing ridley has anything to do with trading for a QB.

that said, im all for trading mo for a QB. but unless i get aaron rodgers or some QB 27 or under im not dealing mo and the #6 pick. no way in hell. if im dealing for brees or rivers and gave them the #6 pick alone id need them to include a pick back, likely a future first.

Ftr I was not talking about Ridley, but on your trade scenario...

It's an interesting question what Brees or Rivers woud be worth in a trade. First of all, though, right now and on a going forward basis are Rivers and Brees of roughly equal value? Rivers is two years younger I think. That's worth something. Brees has overall had the better career, but as of right now Rivers might be of equal talent, so I might actually say on a going forward basis Rivers might be preferable, but enough with the digression.

As much as I want a Qb upgrade and am concerned about Wilkerson's position negotiating a new deal, Shipping him off with the 6th pick does seem a bit steep for an even up trade for either Brees or Rivers even if, as I assume, part of it would involve getting Wilk under contract before the trade at a price acceptable to his new team. I'd do it for next year's second, though. Don't see anyone giving next year's first in such a deal. the second sounds reasonable.

Mo could net both of those guys alone, forget throwing in the 6.

id agree thats alot more reasonable. i cant see a situation where i give both the #6 and mo. id give mo and a future non-first for sure.

geez..we are not trading for Brees, get that out of your heads. He is due 26.4M this year and that is why NO had to trade Jimmy Graham. Brees refused to restructure..do you actually think he would for the fuckin Jets? Really?

I have a feeling Mo is asking for money in the same realm as JJ Watt and Suh but the guy never even made the pro bowl. Some say hes underrated and I agree but he belongs more in the area of a player like Robert Quinn. He deserves around 11.5 a year for 5 or 6 years. That should make him very happy and would also make the Jets not have to move on without him.

Jets are seeking "multiple first-round picks" in exchange for Wilkerson. The announcement was made by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
