After 3 games, in which we could very well have been 3-0 instead of 2-1. We still have Jets fans who are willing to concede games in today's NFL.... before they are played!!!!

What will it take for everyone to realize that one major difference with NFL football campared to most other pro sports, is that the team that is well prepared, well coached i.e game plan and in game play calls, can beat any team on any day as long as they execute and do not make mistakes. We do not need star palyers to win games. We just need to play as a team, and execute well.

That being said, I will again stress that until they loose games, I expect, much like the players and CS do, the Jets to win every game they play. Especially now that I have seen that this CS is about the details and mental preparedness.

Problem is it won't be at the end if the season , reverse that and I'll still be happy.

As Winston says , Manning has such an arm on him wind won't factor him , it might his excellent receivers though:rolleyes:

I think one thing we know now which no one on this board anticipated, we have some serious playmakers on our O. This team can bust big plays and score points. Contrary to popular opinion I think if the weather had been good in Buffalo yesterday we would have blown them out.

Winston I agree with what you are saying now, right now even without a running game we are the 2nd best team in our division, Chad has reverted back to 2002 form, our WRs have been a very welcome surprise, and even though Vilma has struggled Rhodes has stepped it up big time, With more experience, Mangini will work with our DL to get that better which will improve our LBs in the process, and our running game will improve as first off it can't get worse and 2ndly the amount of bad teams on our schedule, now if we can get a little lucky we cam most definitely get into the playoffs

Lucky would definitely be the operative word here. Even at 10-6 I don't think the Jets make the playoffs.

Did you notice even though our front 7 was manhandled all day the coaching staff rotated them and they were fresh when Buffalo had their last drive. Boby Hamilton doesn't make that play in the 4th quarter of a game like that if he was over used. Buffalo runs it in on a tired front.

It's way too early to know that. Half the league will be between 5-3 and 3-5 at the halfway point. We just need to stay in the race and have good tiebreakers and we'll have our chances at the end. A division win on the road like yesterday's is a good step.

The stakes are raised now, 6-10 with this schedule is unacceptable..

The good thing is it's unacceptable to the coaches and the players.

if we do go 6-10, in the end i dont wanna hear the BS about it was a "rebuilding" year or chad just got back from surgery, if he slows down, or we have new staff and we need more time to work together....they should atleast be .500 w/ this schedule if not better

I know crazy stuff happens from week to week in the NFL but do you really believe that only one of Baltimore, Pitt, Jax and Denver is going to win over 10 games?

No, but 10-6 is going to win this division. I don't see New England being any better than 10-6, and they could possibly be worse.

The Patriots schedule is almost identical to the Jets, and they've already manhandled us in our building.

The 2 opponents that are different the rest of the way are @Cin and TEN for the Pats vs @Cle and OAK for the Jets.

This is not rocket science folks. And I'm not one to say I'm an expert. But all one needs to know as to the right formula for how the Jets can be successful is pretty basic:

    A. Protect Chad Pennington
    B. Make a few key plays on D each game
    C. See rule "A", above.

Many here on this thread said the offense would be anemic. My only concern was if the OL could protect CP and allow him to control the game. Yesterday's game was a perfect example: Jets made all of 75 yds on the ground but they still won.

Protect Chad and the Jets have a chance against any team.

NE did not manhandle us in our own building. We made more mistakes than they did, which in turn cost us 11 points.

Pennington's 3rd down run OOB COUPLED with 10 yard punt, gave up 7.

And the holding call on 3rd down late turned a 3 point try into a TD.

Thats a net 11 points. IN a game we lost by 7.

We got 'MANHANDLED' for all of the first 15 minutes in that game.
