You are entitled to your opinion no matter if it is correct or incorrect. So bye-bye to you also. If you dislike my posts so much JUST STOPPING READING THEM it surely cannot be any easier then that & you will never/ever get POed again which also should make your health improve so it becomes a win/win situation for you

I wouldn't be upset if you're right. I liked when DH was more aggressive and we blitzed. Just have to make sure we get to the QB obviously.

Today is the day we put the Bradway/Herm regime behind us. Win or lose I'm very happy with the direction Mangini has set. You can second guess the draft, the punishing camp the way the media has been handled but in the end I expect a well prepared team with a solid defensive approach and maximum effort. I believe that will translate to wins in this league begining with todays game.

This team ended last year in shambles. Today we have a fresh start and a new direction. Whether it's a great year or a rebuilding year I believe a solid foundation is being set for a bright future of Jet football. That future officially starts today. :pats_suck: :finssuck: :buffaloblows:

I feel like I'm looking at a gut rehab where the foundation has just been laid down again. It's not the prettiest house on the block but it's also not the crumbling shack that it had slowly turned into over the last couple of seasons.

The foreman supervising the rehab is a taskmaster and his crew isn't always happy but they're working hard and not taking a lot of coffee breaks. I have the feeling they'd have been laying in the shade by now under the last foreman who we let go when his repair jobs failed.

There are a couple of big strong young guys down in the pit. The foundation got poured around the little platform they're working on and to tell the truth they're kind of stuck out there on that little island until we see how it sets. I'm not particularly worried. They're both putting a lot of work in right now on what they can and not worrying about the floor setting around them.

We'll get a chance to see that house go up board by board this season and by the end of it the guys on the foundation should be ready to step off on solid ground. Then we can worry about things like what the kitchen will look like and whether or not to tile the bathroom.

It's going to be a good season as we watch the new house go up. Hopefully it'll be one we want to live in for 30 years until we retire.

Great test today. This would be a nice win against a not so good team. Im less concerned with Collins..and much more concerned when Young comes in the game..and he probably will.

Not his throwing...but his legs...and a totally different qb to defend.

    Jets will win though.

Really looking forward to the start of this new regime.

Three games in and we did exactly what I thought we would do. We beat Buffalo and TN and lost to NE. We have a division win on the road and two confrence wins. Mangold is much better than Mawae last year and Brick in 3 games has solidified the LT spot. Cotch has turned a bad unit into a solid unit and Washington has given us the "Bruce Harper" effect out of the backfield.

I thought our back 8 was better than it is. Our secondary looks very good, our LB's look very mediocre. I hope to see some serious improvement as guys get more comfortable, particularly Vilma who has been a liability on D so far this year. Dyson and Rhodes have stepped up big time and Rhodes is fast becoming a great NFL player. Miller has dramatically improved and Barret while not a great cover man has been a playmaker on D. Hard to argue this isn't the best Jets secondary in a long time.

One huge plus so far has been Shoty Jr. I was very skeptical of him but he has done a great job adjusting to our talent. I still would like to see Pennington more aggresive up the field and outside early in the game but he has been nothing less than outstanding early in the year. He looks healthy and you can see he is getting a little confidence back. He is going to give us a shot to beat almost every flawed NFL D. Hopefully he stays healthy and he has enough confidence to take the necessary risks against the better NFL defenses. If he does and he is successful we may even take another step up in class this year.

We are going to get to Miami with at worst a 2 & 3 record and a chance for 2 division wins and a 500 record. If we can upset either IND or JAX we would be well on our way to a 10 win season. I don't think we can but I don't think we have to. We have to get through the next two games with the realization we can play with them not necessarily beat them now. I will be hoping for an upset but I will be looking for adjustments and improvement more than wins the next two weeks. Miami is going to be a very big game for this team no matter what happens the next two weeks.

Did I mention that Herm Edwards is no longer the HC of the Jets?

    WOOOO there ,
.................. make a run are you kidding?? We are way to fragile to do that. After teams start to figure out our limited arsenal this 'run' will come to an end.
We are still rebuilding and don't forget it or you will be really dissapointed further down the line.
Yes some of the deadwood has gone but we still have some raw (good potential) talent.
I still think that we won't win more than 5 games , but with the sunshine element in sunglasses mode I expect not too many people to agree with that.

Winston do you seriously believe that we are anything other than canon fodder for the big boys?

I seriously believe the league is filled with mediocre talent particularly at QB. With a veteran QB who is a great decission maker we are going to beat alot of the mediocre teams. The very good teams in this league are all flawed and if they have a bad game we can steel one. The shape of the football also factors into every game. Their is always a luck factor. Injuries is the other big X factor.

With this schedule a well coached team and a veteran QB playing at the top of his game yes I do believe we can rebuild and make a playoff run. I don't have any illusions about being a SB team, but the playoffs is always in play in this league.

Frankly I personally believe rebuilding only applies to teams that have serious amounts of turnover on their roster for starters. We got rid Ty Law, Mawae, Fabini, Abraham. That's only one real impact player and we got Barton back. Everyone that left was done or in decline for years. So I can definately see where you are coming from now. The OL has been rebuilt and is getting very good at pass protection and it can't get worse at run blocking.

I agree with two your two shockers though. Who though our linebackers would be this terrible? And Schotty...who would've thunk it?

If we can keep Chad healthy , and teams play badly or get unlucky against us we may have a chance.
Its without question that the team for the first time since Tuna was here is being coached correctly and there have been some very clever calls on the field. But without a decent running game theres only so far this team will go. Martin is still to return?

If next season we can pick up a grade A RB then we will have a chance which would be 1-2 years before I expected.
The one thing we can all agree on though is that Mangini has got thins going in the right direction.

Not in today's NFL....perhaps 20 years ago....nowadays you have one year to rebuild.

This team while not a great running team has more weapons on it than anytime in the last 5 years. Yesterday Washington came in and sparked the team. We have yet to see much to Smith but we all know he is an explossion waiting to happen. This team will be harder to defense as the season goes on not easier to defense. Our O is still learning the Offense. We were severly limited by the weather yesterday. I'm betting if we get good weather next week we can score points and hang with Indy. I don't think we will beat them but I think we can hang with them.

If we do hang with them I like our coaching staff much better than Indy's in a tough spot.

Stick your fingers into the holes in the schedule, behind Indy (what happens if its a cold rainy day next sunday...?) and Jax, and have your doubts erased.

This is a 10-6 team right now.

Personally I would rather see good weather. I think Manning has a very strong arm and can throw through the wind. They also have a good RB who is probably better than what we put on the field. I want to see if we can compete and stay with them with our new O. I think bad weather actually favors Manning over Chad.
