If we are 1-2 and lose at Pitt, we will be 1-3. Drive back home is 355 miles for me. 6 hours of pouting after the game will kill me. If we win this week, I will at least feel somewhat good because we will be 2-2 after the Pitt trip instead of 1-3.
If you like Frank Lloyd Wright I would recommend going to see Falling Waters in Ohiopyle. If you like white water rapids, hiking and biking trails you can spend a day there. If I recall it's about 1 to 1.5 hours out of Pittsburgh.
It’s a good time and some nice spots to eat plus walking distance to the casino. Might make the drive and go as well will let you know
Crime is on the rise BIGTIME, be careful !! I've gone a few times for Pirates-Mets games, walk to PNC Stadium across that bridge from the more densely populated area. Not sure where Heinz Field is in relation to PNC.
Hey Brook I will be there too! Going with my Steelhead brother in law. Don't know where we are staying but will let you know.
Pittsburgh is an awesome city, and that stadium will really show you what a shithole MetLife Stadium actually is. Primanti Bros is the famous sandwich place that everyone loves but honestly I found it to be terribly overrated. You can get a better sandwich from pretty much any NY Deli. You’ll pretty much be able to walk to everything in PIT. Great restaurants and bars all over for evening entertainment.
Thanks all. You guys are really forcing my hand to go. I am extremely eager to visit Pittsburgh after all these comments. Knowing you will also be there gives me enough motivation to go even if we lose to Bengals. Let me figure out the hotel situation. The downtown prices are outrageous and I don't want to go if I can't stay in downtown for bar hopping.
My son is a Steelers fan so I've taken him to the Steelers / Ravens game in Pittsburgh for many years until he was old enough to drive there with his friends. We also went to the Jets / Steelers AFC Championship game, sat in 2nd row behind Jets bench. Not sure if its still open as I haven't been there in about 5 years but there used to be a brewery / dinner place inside an old church, it was pretty cool. There was a great breakfast buffet place a 10 min walk from the stadium across one of the bridges. I'll look it up and see if I can remember the place. You do need to try Pierogies somewhere... The stadium is very nice, they have music inside under the stands near the walk of fame before games and music at mid field inside the stadium before games.
Church Brew Works is the brewery.. https://churchbrew.com/ The breakfast buffet place we went to is closed but this one looks pretty good, has good views and is close to stadium.. https://www.grandconcourserestaurant.com/ Also there is a bar / restaurant a few blocks from the stadium that is a great place to experience pre-game called Jerome Bettis Grille 36... been there a number of times, the food is pretty good for a place so close to stadium. The food in stadium stinks... beers are ice cold though !
Aha. Found my pregame place then. Love the Jerome Bettis Grille suggestion. Thanks my friend. Are you coming to NJ anytime soon?
You know me, I like to go in Dec / Jan when the real fans go.. I have to check schedule, will be down south Oct until just before Thanksgiving. Maybe the Dec Detroit game, I like what they are doing with that team despite Goff.
