I've been saying this for a few days, but you put it together in a neat and tidy package and it makes much more sense than the scatterbrained shit I was posting. I salute you.
Why is it that we aren't utilizing Amaro , Cumberland or Sudfield like NO uses Graham, NE uses Gronk, Denver uses Thomas, ATL uses Gonzalez, SD uses Gates etc. We should be spreading either of them to wide out and still have a TE on the line . Have Powell or Johnson in the back field to run a wheel route, back out, bubble screen, vertical seam route etc and have Kerley in the slot and Decker on the other side. That in itself creates mismatches all over the field and whose going to cover who
I think it's mostly because none of our guys are anywhere NEAR the players that Graham, Gronk, Thomas, Gonzalez and Gates are. They are all HOFers or pretty damn close. Putting Zach Sudfeld in a certain slot does not turn him into Jimmy Graham. _
Exactly. That's why I think that play call with 3 TEs was ridiculous. In that important situation, Sudfield shouldn't have even been on the field.
Rex wants what he always wants in an offensive coordinator. Someone who talks about something crazy and will absolve him of all duties related to the team's offense so he can be a defensive coordinator pretending to be a head coach.
U need worry about trick plays or MM or RR cause the downfall is really Idzik & his handling of the secondary this off season. Now we have 2 games with NE which will both be losses as we have NOBODY who can cover. We have 1 game up coming with Mr. Manning do U think we can cover there receivers? Then we have 1 game vs Brandon Marshall who do U think we have who can cover him? Then we have another game with Megatron now who do U think will cover him? So right there are 6 losses. We also have a game vs SD who has good receivers so who do we have to cover them? IMHO anybody that is deluding themselves into thinking we are SB bound should immediately book themselves into the insane asylum
I recall some deluded old fool telling the world he was burning a crisp hunnerd doller bill on the Jets to make the SB.
Do us all a favor - just post in your native language from whatever third world country you come from and we'll find someone to translate into English for you.
Vick's definitely winning me over. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/je...-michael-vick-on-his-role-five-plays-too-many
It's obvious that Vick's main concern is Geno Smith's progression. He's going to get another chance to compete for a job in this league next year regardless so I hope Marty takes Vick's quotes into consideration to stop calling these bullshit plays. It's good to have them in your back pocket against a team like Denver or a game down the stretch you need to win to get into playoff contention. Using them every week is so counterproductive I'd bet opposing defenses laugh at it together in meeting rooms.
If we string a bunch of losses in a row does Vick get a chance to start it or is Rex to stubborn to pull geno if he isn't getting it done
I think Geno's the starter regardless of what happens. What's the point in putting Vick in when we're 1-7? The chances of making the playoffs are virtually impossible unless we miraculously trade for Peyton Manning, and Geno deserves at least half the season to prove himself.
The coaches are utilizing the players and creating mismatches that's all that's being done. Nothing spectacular except having a TE that can catch and run a decent route. You spread them wide and they have 3 options put a LB out there which would be ridiculous, put a CB on them which usually CB's range from 5'8" to 6'0 that's a height mismatch , or put a Safety on them which would most likely be the option but usually safeties are less likely to have good cover skills and lack of fluidity in their hips. None of those teams and players are doing anything besides playing pitch and catch and hoping their TE can make the first tackle miss and get 5-10 yards a play off of quick hits.
For whatever reason...we haven't seen enough out of our tight ends. Is it the playcalling? That's the way I lean.
Trick plays are fine.... its the who and when thats the problem. the jets sweep option stuff like the kerley play. thats coming with geno under center with our normal personel on the field. you mix those in and its a decent chance the defense isnt ready for it. you do it on first down while you've got a team on its heals from runs up the gut and you likely hit some decent yards. Bringing in vick on 2nd and 8 on a drive you need points for in a game you blew a big lead is idiotic timing and personel. teams see vick, they know its some kind of vick run/option. there is no catching them off gaurd, and when it doesnt work, its 3rd and long. We have actually had alot of success of fakes and trick players, when used situationally with the right personel. I felt like tebow got a bad rap... it could have really worked sprinkling a few trick plays with him.... but all we did is run him in at QB and hav him run straight into the defensive tackles. were doing the same with vick. when they only time you bring a guy in, is to run a trick play for him under center, you arent fooling anyone but yourself
Amaro isnt good enough, cumberland isnt consistent/healthy enough, and sudfeld isnt good enough, consistent enough, or healthy enough. im not saying to go to your tight ends, but they arent guys who should be force fed
Yeah the play calling one minute looks good then they try the trickery when we aren't that bad on Offense where we have to trick teams
