Rich Cimini Here we go: Plaxico Burress tweaked ankle and won't practice today. #nyj Rich Cimini Rex Ryan gave no details on Plax ankle injury. Remember: he hasn't even practiced yet. #nyj
Hopefully this is just him getting the rust off... I really hope this isnt an ongoing thing... We need him this year big time...
WOW I FUCKIN LOVE IT furthermore I hope he comes on as an assistant WR coach or Offensive Assistan. Ellard and Bruce, two of the better WR's in Rams history love how Ellard had some former organization pull on this one
"rodboone Rod Boone Rex said Plax's tweaked ankle may keep him out for a day or two." Everyone CALM DOWN-
Rich is such a dick, every other Jet beat writer said it's not serious and will only be out a day or two just to play it safe.
i think the thing people dont like seeing is that he wasnt even practicing. did he jog to get his ankles taped and tweak it that way? or did he tie his shoes too fast.
If it were any other player i guarantee they'd be practicing. As Rex said, they're just playing it safe.
as long as the ankle doesn't lead to running differently and tweaking a hamstring or aggravating a knee
I don't know what the rules are with the new CBA and new contracts but it seem possible that he was doing some work on his own. Conditioning of some sort? It's also possible that he just tweaked it walking around, stepped off a curb wrong or something equally embarrassing. Either way it sounds like they are just being overly cautious since he hasn't played in two years.
He tweaked it running routes on his own to stay fresh. He rolled it awkwardly. The training staff didn't think it was a big deal.

He rolled the ankle running routes with Santonio .... said he kept running on it after it happened, and it swelled some this morning. Shouldn't be a big deal. Per Adam Shein on Sirius NFL Radio Sorry Ignatius .. missed that you already posted.
It depends on how badly he rolled it. I planted my right foot playing tennis years ago and rolled it badly. The thing instantly blew up like a balloon even with sticking it in a bucket of icewater. I was on crutches for days and the sprain really didn't go away for about 6 months. Doctor said I would have been better off breaking it.... would have taken less time to heal. So yeah, it depends on how badly he sprained it. If he was still able to get around afterward it doesn't sound like a terrible sprain, but the swelling is an indication that he's going to have to take it easy for a while.
