Wow, I think that's the same knee he hurt last year too. Sounds like he shouldn't have been out there. That did not look good. I guess Kaep may finally get signed?
Nah I don't think Tannehill is very good and I understand your point of view as that is one of the reasons why I didn't particularly like Petty coming out in the draft because of course all things being considered you'd like your QB to be able to make reads.. . But at this point Petty is already here. And I just think that if we look at a QB just starting his 3rd year in the league and determine he's a lost cause because he can't read defenses then the chances of ever finding a good QB here are low because that's like saying we're only looking for unicorns or finished products. Petty could have success with his weakness like many QBs have, we could run a system that masks his weaknesses or he could even could improve upon it.
Why would you sign Kaepernick? You have Matt Moore who is a capable backup and Jay Cutler still out there who you can coax back In a way I hope they do though, because I will be there at the home opener to absolutely yell every obscenity in the book at that ignorant s.o.b
Just looked at their schedule for the first time. I mean they do have to play the Raiders still, but the schedule look good for them to win 14+ games. I doubt they lose to the Falcons since Shanahan is gone. They might sweep our division. *sigh*
Jets need a QB that transcends the system or "becomes the system --- in which he makes everyone around him better. Reads the defense, puts the players in the right spots". Because I have no faith that the Jets will find a coordinator that runs a QB friendly system. I am sure a Chip Kelly could make Petty look decent in his system.
As Branch Rickey always said: "Luck is the residue of design". Hate them all you want, but they have a plan and they execute it, unlike the Jets who bounce from gutter to ditch without a clue.
Better off just forgetting about this year. Pats are going to be insanely good this year. Jets had to take like 5 steps back here, but hopefully in a year or two we will be right there with them.
I couldn't possibly hate them any more thank you very much..lol. I give credit where its due to a certain extent. How could you not w. what they have accomplished? But when you factor in some of the calls they have gotten, bounces, & even controversies they've sided stepped; I don't think it can be argued that the Patriots have been very very fortunate. In some ways you'd have to be for this sort of longevity. As for the jets...you & I are totally on the same page..including the notion of the franchise outright ignoring the offensive personnel for decades. That said..if the Jets found their franchise QB on a 6th round pick whim...would things be different? I'd venture to say yes.
Jordan Jenkins sighting and boy ... we might miss Nick Folk, but this Ross Martin kid seems to be decent. Also Dylan might be the hottest rapper in the game right now.
Robby Anderson has absolutely been awful the first 4 practices. The offensive line is absolute trash as well. I thought we might have a bad line, but this could be really bad. I know Beachum ain't practicing but still ...
Aside from the political downside, I'd rather have Kaepernick than Cutler. Kaepernick's better and more coachable.
Petty finishing strong! Got some work late in the day. Has to build on it for sure. I'll repeat this, but McCown is an absolute waste of time. Threw picks and didn't do anything to make his case as a starter.
maybe Anderson's head has gotten too big. He was a walk on last year. Someone should remind of that. One half season and they cut a few guys ahead of him, that don't mean shit.
