Not likely imo with no 1st round pick. Even if they had one, great LTs don't usually fall to the 32nd pick.

IMO Brown, probably; Turner, maybe, Mitchell, not likely.

IMO Max isn't going to get waived, nor should he, and he won't go to the PS, he will be on the roster. I think he has potential, he's just not ready. Last season was supposed to be a redshirt season for him to sit and learn while he was building strength. That didn't happen. He had to play, got injured, then had the blood clot issue and probably couldn't even work out. His technique needs work and he needs to get stronger, but Saleh seems to love him. I doubt that Mitchell is going anywhere. That said, I agree that I don't want to see him on the field this year.

I think that there's a pretty good chance that if a decent vet OT is waived or available for a reasonable cost, the Jets will get him or they may sign Peters. I know I'd rather see Peters playing than Mitchell, and maybe more than Turner, although I think Turner will probably be OK at RT. I don't want him protecting Rodgers blind side.

On The Jets Way, there's a poster who says that he is a former collegiate OL coach and that all of Mitchell's mistakes are fixable and that he just needs to play. He's very high on Mitchell and thinks he's better than Turner and should start over Becton at RT. I totally disagree with him on Mitchell starting over Becton .

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you on this. If Brown isn't ready to go or gets injured during the season, imo Becton should go to LT and AVT to RT. It could only take one snap from Mitchell or Turner at LT for Rodgers to be lost for the season. I'd feel more confident with Turner than Mitchell, but that's not saying a lot. Saleh has said that we will go with our best 5. Turner isn't one of our best 5 OL, and Mitchell especially isn't. I agree that moving around isn't ideal, but better that and have your best OL out there, than have a mediocre to poor OL out there just for continuity's sake.

If Brown is out for any reason, be it one game or longer, imo the starting OL should be Becton/Tomlinson/McGovern/Tippman/AVT.

Money wise? Sure. But the draft capital it would cost would be astronomical, especially without a 1st next year (most likely)

Can't imagine it would be that much for a 33 / 34 year old receiver with a $44 million dollar cap hit in 25/26. Contract is absurd to take on, they won't get as much as you think.

Makes me feel even better that we got McD then…I’ll never stop saying you can’t ever have enough good pass rushers :)

I'm not a cap expert by any means, but from what I've seen those last 2 years are easily cuttable ( 8 mil and 3 mil cap hits).

So he's really on a 2 year deal, his age 30 and 31, with a manageable cap number.

How much are teams really going to give up for a 1.5 year rental though? (Assuming this gets done by week 8 deadline)

Idk it also depends on the Raiders record at the time. I doubt that they will dump them for nothing though.

Let's say their starting asking price is a 2nd rounder. That would leave the jets with no picks before the 3rd round.

Indeed. That was the Giants philosophy during their super bowl run. That team was loaded with edge rushers.

I see no way that JD would go into the draft without a pick before the 3rd round. Also, I don't think the Jets could trade the 2nd round pick even if they wanted to. At present, it belongs to the Packers.
