Reminder: Jets are off today before returning to practice tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday prior to their final preseason game against the Giants on Saturday.
Same, although I can't imagine we'll see a ton of the full 1's on the field Saturday. I'd say Rodgers & GW get 1-2 series and then Zach will come in and play a few more series with the 1's before we move onto the 2's. I really hope they give Becton some more run with the 1's at RT this week in practice and then again on Saturday. We'll see.
I'm not sure. The one thing that has me sketchy on this is that it took 2 weeks to announce that Clark had a torn ACL. I really hope that's not the case with Tippman. The Jets overall are pretty dodgy when it comes to injury announcements.
I agree. The whole thing smells strange…nobody seemed to know he was hurt in the first place until Saleh announced it in the post presser. He didn’t have any specifics and there is nothing on the news or the net mentioning the injury. Strange …
I don't think Turner will go anywhere since he has a lot of experience with Hackett and Rodgers and is the most versatile OL we have. He can play every position on the OL except C. He hasn't looked very good in TC, but I think a lot of that is due to all the experimenting with different players, the competition at C, etc., and he has been flipping from the right to the left and back to the right with Mitchell. Once a set unit is established and the OL can work on chemistry, timing, and playing like a unit, they will be much better. Then if Turner has to play, he will be able to focus on one position, I think he will be able to play at a higher level. Also, because OL play is more about how the group as a whole functions rather than individuals, I think his play would be just fine at either RT or one of the OG spots. I'm not sure I would want him protecting Rodger's blind side. If Brown isn't ready to go, then I think Becton should get switched back to the LT position until Brown is ready to go. They can play Turner at RT or move AVT there until Brown gets back.
He hasn't seen any run with the 1s yet. It has been only with the 2s. The next snap he takes with the 1s will be his first this preseason.
We are the NYJ. No way I would've played Aarod In preseason. SOJ vibes. I guess, at some point, If we want to eradicate the stench of that SOJ mantra, then they got to do things that allow this team to air out that shit.. Scary though.
I tend to agree with you. However many snaps AR takes it's not really going to make that much difference to him being ready. It's like keeping your starting QB in the game at the end of a blow out (either way).
Agree but it will appease part of the fanbase and if he gets hurt that same fanbase will be up in arms. It's what Jets fans do!
Yes, I guess they're just practicing a few hours later than normal? Saleh did mention at the end of 1JD last night that this week they're trying to simulate a Regular Season week so maybe they practice in the afternoon during the season instead of at 10:30-11am. Haven't seen any tweets from the beat other than the Becton and Duane Brown news.
Tippman should be good by week 1 Becton starting at RT Tomlinson and AVT available to play this week Duane Brown getting cleared today in Houston Izzy out two weeks with a thigh injury Dalvin Cook and Breece Hall practicing but won't play Corey Davis still away from the team for personal matters Carl Lawson still out with a back injury
