Rosenblatt: Will McDonald got by Mekhi Becton really quickly during team drills. Becton having a hard time with his speed. #Jets Faria: The McDonald-Becton battle is a fun one to watch. The rookie started slow but is starting to get some wins. #Jets
Cimini: This must be the “growing pains” stage for the offense. Looks disjointed. Drops, miscommunications between Rodgers and receivers, some pressure up front. #jets
From Dennis Waszak: When Jason Brownlee went undrafted in April, he told his mother: “Don’t hold your head down, I got it. I told her, ‘I’m going to go prove everybody wrong.’” With every practice, @Slideweezy is showing the #Jets & Aaron Rodgers he can be “special”
Rosenblatt: Tony Adams with another interception off Aaron Rodgers. His stellar camp continues. #Jets Hughes: Rodgers ends drive-the-field drill with an interception. Went deep down the seam and Tony Adams made the leaping interception. His strong camp continues #Jets Faria: Awful no-huddle simulation for the offense. Rodgers is picked off deep by Tony Adams after an incomplete pass and a false start. #Jets Staley: The Jets offense has been a bit sloppy today. Procedure penalties, drops, a fumble by Izzy, offensive line letting up pressure and now the INT. Aaron Rodgers was being rushed out of the pocket and he just threw the ball up and Tony Adams went up and picked it off in the middle of the field. Waszak Jr.: Tony Adams continues his solid training camp - picks off Aaron Rodgers for the second time in camp. Believe Jermaine Johnson had heavy pressure on Rodgers as he threw. #Jets
Faria: Streveler is taking reps with the second team in the no-huddle work. Wilson looks fine but is off to the side #Jets
Faria: Practice is over. - Defense took over after a strong offensive start - Becton kind of leveled off late but I still think it’s the best he’s looked and took an important step - Bam and Tony Adams looked good again. - bad day for 1st team offensive line #Jets Rosenblatt: I had Aaron Rodgers at 8 of 19 with 1 TD and 1 INT — there was multiple bad snaps, though, as well as a couple drops. He also had some special throws mixed in — to Mecole Hardman, and nearly getting one to Allen Lazard after a bad snap. Not a great day for the #Jets offense overall. D-Line continues to dominate the O-Line. And Jets secondary had a great day.
Consider me alarmed... Paul Andrew Esden Jr @BoyGreen25 #Jets HC Robert Saleh said the center competition is going to go through ‘at least’ Carolina (game on Saturday Aug 12, joint practices earlier that week) + said rookie Joe Tippmann has to ‘earn it’ in reference to reps w/ starters + sounds like the battle is between Connor McGovern & Wes Schweitzer at this point Connor Hughes @Connor_J_Hughes It does not sound like Joe Tippmann is a legitimate option to start in 2023. #Jets
Damien Woody @damienwoody · 24m Being at #Jets practice yesterday I would say the noise about Tony Adams is definitely warranted. Dude is super athletic, great range, very intense. It’s early but dude could be big time at FS
Rich Cimini @RichCimini · 40m Mekhi Becton has had “two really good practices” in a row, per Saleh, who says Becton’s knee is getting stronger. He will be on a limited pitch count on Thursday night. Saleh says.
that is not good news about Tippmann. Schweitzer can't even snap the ball correctly but somehow hes ahead of Tippmann
I wonder what the issue(s) with Tippman has been.. Hopefully things can get on the right track for him. It's good they resigned McGovern though. Not that he's an all-pro, but he's a solid starter.
[QUOTE="KY Jets Fan, post: 4324326, member: Carl Lawson is terrorizing Billy Turner today. Dear lord he’s had at least three “sacks” today. #Jets Abanikanda with a big time run with the 2s off the left side. #Jets[/QUOTE] Well, if that was Becton instead of Turner most everyone would be jumping on his ass. Lawson is a beast; meantime Becton quietly is making good progress. Turner IMO is not the LT starter, is either Brown, Becton or a surprise move.
JD cannot help that Becton and Clarke got seriously injured. Unless Brown had torn rotator cuffs when JD signed him, JD can't help that, either. Tomlinson had been very, very good with SF. It's not JD's fault that Tomlinson had a bad year last year. There were holes all over the roster. Fans wouldn't be happy if we had a great OL and the secondary sucked, or if there were no weapons around Rodgers. He had to spread the love around. Let's not forget that he practically had to gut the whole roster and start from scratch.
