I cannot stand Kiko Alonso, but if he were cut, I would take a flier. He's dirty but at least he wouldn't hurt a Jet

He’d be our best coverage LB, he has a history with Gase and I’m sure Gregg will love the borderline dirty playstyle. I’m sure he’ll wind up here if cut.

Considering the injury to Williamson, and the suspension to Copeland, I'd like Alonso for the depth.

Copeland was playing some 4-3 OLB this preseason, which Alonso can do, as well as playing Williamson's role in the middle.
    It'd be a good add.

A lot of dots could be connected today to make it look like Clowney is coming

I will freak out (with joy) if they somehow swing a deal for Clowney

Depends on price. Tricky situation not being able to sign him now.

Would have to be a mid round pick at most with more if he signs extension/new contract next season, not worth a high pick for one year rental

I'm really not sure if I'd give up a 1 for him, which is certainly his market given the Mack trade last year. Clowney is a good pass rusher, but he's not a $125M player.

I wouldn’t give a 1 for him. Not for a rental. He hasn’t really been that dominant. I’d give a 3 that comes to a 2 if we sign him long term. Maybe

Saw a stat that he's given up more penalty yards than he has got in sacks + TFL, he's a solid player but he's overrated

I don't want Clowney. He's one of those guys that has godlike physical talent and never lives up to his potential. To think that he'd do it here instead of on the other side of the line from JJ Watt...

    I don't see it happening.

Fuck Kiko Alonso, he’s a POS and dirty as they come. Let him go to the Bengals to replace Burfict.

To change the subject , I thought the Pre Season was going pretty well till the Saints showed up and revealed how limited the Jets are

Sam and the Offense will feast on easier opposition but the Defense is just porous ..only positive play was revitalized Williams putting pressure with Baby Huey Quinnen at his side ahaha

Douglas has 2 weeks ...yes two..till game day to put our ship in shape!!

Yep, our pass defense against Brees were bad, like really bad. Hopefully Johnson, when healthy, can upgrade our corners, but I don't have unrealistic expectations after his last years level of play. But on the other hand, our run defense was pretty good IMO.

I'm still optimistic because preseason is just glorified practice. It's all about individual talent trying to outplay the other teams individual talent. Obviously the Saints have better talent than the Jets and it showed at every level. Once the coaches start scheming they can try to level the talent gap. Maybe...

do NOT give up a one for clowney.......next years draft is littered with QB's and IMO the jets will be picking inside the top ten so there will be plenty of takers that need a QB.

our #1 next year may turn out to be as valuable as darnolds pick, a couple years down the road.

It felt like we played a team that should've won the SB last year and is built like they will this year.

Trumaine Johnson didn't play, 3 OL starters didn't play, and our best offensive player didn't play. Not saying we'd beat the Saints with that but this board is so reactionary to anything bad. If Sam takes the jump we all expect and know he's capable of, then this is an 8-8 team and if a couple breaks go their way they might sneak in as a 6 seed

It helps that one of the few playoff “locks” in the conference just vacated their spot. And you can make an argument we now have a top 6 QB in the conference, too.
