Also consider that the 2008 team had 12 pro bowl players and alternates. More than half the starters were pro bowl players. 2008 was arguably the most talented team in Jets history but with one of the worst coaches in Jets history.
There was a lot of veteran leadership also. Once all those veterans finally bought in to a coach, the young guys followed, and that’s when the team became dangerous. Tanny stayed aggressive in 09 also, bringing in Bart and Jim Leonard, trading for Braylon, drafting Greene. That’s how you support a young QB. Quite the opposite from ‘20 approach with Darnold. Saleh I think will have a similar effect as Rex. We don’t have as much of that vet leadership and experience, so I don’t think it will turnaround quite as quickly. I do think Zach Wilson a much better prospect than Sanchez tho, playing in a more QB friendly offense as well. It’s on JD imo to start upping the talent level. Im confident we have the right coaches to turn things around.
The Eagles are the kind of team that could use Minshew, a firecracker for a team with huge question marks at QB. If Hurts flops then Minshew could help salvage their season. Flacco, not so much. No team that just drafted a QB high will want anything to do with GM because if their guy gets hurt and he comes in and starts winning, you have a QB controversy. Minshew is the new Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Speaking of Jenn Sterger, she's apparently going to be the roving reporter on Jan 28 for new mma promotion Eagle FC. https://www.mmamania.com/2022/1/26/...ce-team-set-former-ufc-champ-jan-28-miami-mma
