Thanks for your updates KY Jets Fan! Sounds like a really good workout/test for their last practice. They obviously have some "lessons" to absorb, but Zach seems like he hung in their and wasn't overwhelmed or intimidated and actually did some really nice things. The injuries are troubling, and we're seeing where we have weaknesses with no real help on the immediate horizon, but to me, this is Year 1, and we can only get better.
Overall thoughts on today's practice: OL seemed to play better, still not great but better. Quiet-ish day from Wilson. I can remember 1 almost pick but that's it so not a bad day, just quiet. Rough day for the D. Both of the Eagles 1's and 2's seemed to have their way with our secondary.
I agree. DJ Bien-Amie seemed to comment that the Eagles were clearly the better team both days but then kind of back-tracked it in a later tweet and said that they weren't a lot better but it was noticeable? Then said the game in the regular season would be a coin-flip which seemed to be my general takeaway from the tweets I've seen. The Eagles are a team I think we have a chance at beating during the season so it's good to hear that at this point the margin between us is very small to nothing.
Really? Because if you read the boards it’s just like going to Home Depot and picking up whatever you need.
Trying not to read too far into the OL having a better day with Becton out. Curious what the story is with Curry.
Injuries are really unfortunate, and somehow the Jets seem to be piling them up again before the 2021 season. It takes away a little bit of my optimism of actually being a winning team. When you connect all the dots, the Jets should have another struggling season. They will be more fun to watch though, and will certainly be better than 2020. Too many holes to seriously compete with the top teams in the league though. As many said, it is a learning year for all the young guys, and especially Zach Wilson. That doesn't mean they can't win a few games that they shouldn't, and also since they are so young, they may lose a few games they should win.
Not to be insensitive with regard to Becton's concussion, but this is yet another injury for the big man. It's hard to call it simply bad luck when he's been injured as often as he has so far in his career. Between the injuries and his poor play during camp I think it's fair to have quite a bit of concern about Becton.
Makes you think about how That Right Tackle in Tampa would look in his spot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hard to hear but I love the quote. It’s less about turnovers and more about making significantly more positive than negative plays out there on the field. Our prior early round QBs simply didn’t make enough positive and/or explosive plays as Zach states. Thus the turnovers is all we had to focus on.
Eh, his injury last year was not handled right. Gase should have never dressed him when he further aggravated it. Who knows how it plays if he isn’t sent into a game he had no business being in.
An update on the Vinny Curry situation. Very sad to hear but the prognosis for him sounds promising so that's good. Here's to a speedy recovery for Vinny!
Exactly. I can handle turnovers from Zach this year if it's him trying to make plays. Those are to be expected as a rookie and they're what gave a lot of us hope for Sam. Hopefully, Zach learns from his mistakes and gets better from them which is something that Sam never seemed to do.
