Not sure that's the personality I want around a bunch of young impressionable rookies on a rebuilt roster.

 

One guy I'd take a flyer on is Marcus Davenport with the Saints. He's still extremely raw but has elite physical ability. Comes from a small school (UTSA) and was reached for in the first round, he probably should have gone in the third.

He's 24 years old, he's got a great burst and is huge, fast and strong as hell, but his technique is utter dogshit and the Saints have done nothing to fix it apparently. Watch some of his Saints highlights, he tackles with his fingers. I mean every time he gets to the ball carrier he tries to throw them down by their jersey and pads, he doesn't wrap up.

Yeah the Jets would have their work cut out for them but if they could get him to be even an average tackler and teach him a couple of power moves, you combine that with his size and strength and violence, that could be a real weapon from the edge.

 

Is the guy that thick that he can't work out he needs to alter his own technique?

I mean if you have spotted where he is going wrong, surely somebody else has given him this info?

Makes me think he has no desire to change like our ex QB

 

Could be that, but if he's toxic then I think Joe would be able to vet that out. It's worth exploring IMO.

 

I know hes not a pass rusher but its hard to believe KJ Wright is just sitting out there for the taking. He is a tackling machine

Those comments by Saleh (to me) sounds like there's uncertainty about AVT and Moore's status for week one.

It'll be interesting to see what they do at LB now. There are the rookies, but also sounds like Noah Dawkins is in the mix too as he started this past week. Wonder what's up with Cashman

 

I thought Moore and AVT were downgraded to day to day earlier in the week. Now "god willing" they will be able to play in 3 weeks?

 

theres still about 3 weeks til regular season action IIRC. AVT is missing some time but this week and next will be telling if they can be ready by week 1 IMO.
