I walked into a head shop a few weeks ago and saw a rubber foot with a vagina on it. There's a market for everything now and most of it is obnoxious.
Thanks for posting these and all the other tweets. We definitely have to keep perspective and remember who we're going against this week.
I'm not so concerned with the Smiths beating Becton, but who in the heck are Kamal Martin and Keke Whatshisname? Those stiffs shouldn't be beating Becton.
Why in the heck did he even bother to post this? All one can hear is a loud roar. I can barely hear Zach's voice, and can't make out most of his words. Rookie reporter.
I was just making a statement that Rodgers looks like a douche. Feel free to keep his poster up over your bed. The other thread where I mentioned a quick release being thought as overrated by some would be a better example of you stalking me. So I will give you that.
No, I just don't like made up crap, especially from posters who are much better than that. You're a great poster and I usually agree with about everything you say, but you don't need to make crap up to have valid concerns and points. Becton was not bad all last season, not by any stretch of the imagination, that is a gross exaggeration, and he is not having weight issues presently. Unless or until he balloons back up, his weight issues are in the past, and imo should be left there. It's totally fair and reasonable to be concerned with how Becton has looked in TC. He is definitely struggling and needs to step it up. His weight isn't causing the problems. I don't know why he is struggling so. It could be that the new OL Coach has him changing his technique or something, which is causing him issues. He may be having to think too much, rather than just react, or maybe he doesn't feel comfortable with the new technique and blocking scheme. If the new CS is causing problems with Becton and Mims, then they are the ones who need to go, not Becton and Mims. I think I watched all the film on Becton that was available when he was in the draft. He needed work on pass protection, but never looked this shaky at Louisville, and never looked this shaky last season. Something else is going on. No, he didn't come into camp overweight. It was just reported a month ago that the CS had given him a weight limit when they took over, or perhaps even at OTAs, but when he reported to TC, he had met the weight, and Saleh said it was not an issue.
You're right, but I follow the draft closely and have a good handle on who the top players are at each position of need for the Jets, and I never saw any of those guys not named "Smith" listed as even being in the top 20 at their position in their draft class. I would remember names like theirs. Casual fans don't know the names of players, but those who follow the draft closely know the names of the top players at least. I'm also a Packers fan. I root for them over every other team but the Jets. Their games get shown in NC when Jets games don't. I've never heard of those guys.
I think he corrected the weight issues, I remember reading this, and found the links: https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2021/...khi-becton-weight-leaner-frame-workout-video/ https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/07/03/ny-jets-video-mekhi-becton-slender-workout/ This should help with injuries and also shows his professionalism. However, it appears he is being constantly dominated by Lawson, and just gave up I think 3-4 sacks on his side today in GB. That is definitely concerning, there is no doubt about it. As an LT he is going to face the best pass rush other teams have to offer. There aren't going to be many easy nights.
The connection is that majority of the folks who didn't like the trade for AVT still wanted to upgrade Guard via draft with Jenkins to protect Zach, who was there in the second round. So, we would have Zach and say Moore in the first, then got Jenkins in the second and would save our 3d round pick. With this news, where Jenkins is basically out for almost all year, that strategy would have backfired in a major way.
While I agree we shouldn't panic yet, there is reason for concern, as you noted. But while the "weight issues" may be behind him, they might well have caused his foot problems which kept him out of OTAs and impacted his off season work, and that may well be having an impact on his play now. He seems to be working hard and being a professional, so that's a big plus, and he has tremendous up side, but he can't afford to rest on his laurels.
From the reports, even though Zach was under a LOT of pressure, he still made good decisions and throws, and in the short video clips he's even smiling, so he wasn't shellshocked and "seeing ghosts". I think this will really help him learn what he needs to better than a day when he had it easy.
Agreed, he was good last year. This year however I was hoping he would become elite, great LT by improving his pass protection to match running game impact. I still hope it will happen with a few weeks of practice left. I just see some signs that it might take longer, which makes me a bit concerned, as I was hoping Zach would get elite LT protection in his rookie year. I still hope he will work through this though with some time left.
