I was going to say... I don't remember anything positive at all coming out of camp about Geno. Certainly not to the extent we are hearing it this year.
http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/index.html Here are his green dreads at 2:07 in the video called "Mauldin and Petty take first steps."
Given the choice between Powell, Richardson, Stacy, I would still take C. Johnson over those guys right now. Everyone wants younger and faster, where to get is the big question. Despite how "wonderfully" Geno performs in TC, defenses are still going to play the Jets the same way as before. "Stop the run, make Geno beat you with his arm." Until Geno proves to the league that he can beat you with his arm, Jet RB's are going to have a tough slog on their hands.
We'll just have to agree to disagree regarding Johnson. The draft is the place to get younger and faster, but we had so many needs that wasn't a priority this year. Hopefully, along with the OL, it will be next year. You're spot on with the bolded portion. Hopefully, the positive signs from camp this year are an indicator of things to come. If not, then I imagine that Fitz will get a shot to make a difference at some point.
