I was obviously exaggerating. My point is that I want a reliable RB who COULD handle that type of workloud if we ran the ball that much. I don't want to see Ivory on the sideline after 10 carries because he's banged up and we're out there trying to win a game.

I disagree by the way. If the RB can handle 300+ carries, if he averages 4.5+ yards per carry, if that's what have to do to win games, you ride him. Similar to Peterson or Murray. I really don't care about longevity. They don't do that with any position. Nobody takes Peyton off the field after 40 pass attempts, nobody takes Kuechly off the field after 20 tackles, it's absurd. They need those guys out there. If we have a similar #2 RB then rotating makes sense. If we have a good QB then taking the load off the RB makes sense (see Lynch / Seahawks). But if all you have is one good RB (Vikings) or your QB is somewhat limited (Cowboys) you just hand him the ball. Nobody cares if he lasts 4 years or 6 years. That's just the way it is. Colleges don't care about that, and we shouldn't care about it either. If he's done after 4 years you move on to the next guy. That's the point of football, you drain these players until they don't have anything left. When they're empty you plug in the next guy. They get good money for it. And quite frankly handing Ivory the ball 5-10 times per game doesn't cut it. You don't win games that way. He can be a difference maker if he gets at least 15 carries, around 20-25 carries per game. That's when he can guarantee us a couple of wins per year. If he can't do that he's useless. His 5-10 carries per game are a waste of time. He's no Jerome Bettis who comes in on 3rd and inches for one play to keep a drive alive. He gets his carries on 1st and 2nd down. He's not making a difference there with 5-10 carries. I'm saying all this because I LOVE the guy. I think he can be a top 3 back in the league. The only guys who are better rushers in my view are Lynch and Peterson. And those 3 are very similar backs. But he just shoots himself in the knee all the time by getting banged up almost every week. Comes with the territory if you look at how many tackles he breaks and hits he takes, but Peterson goes through the same stuff, so does Lynch.

Not happening, he already said he'll switch numbers soon. Probably after the preseason, maybe even during camp.

Of course he'll get killed in an actual game with that kind of throw.
