It was just a joke about his name.

Generally speaking I don't like the idea of giving up a crap load of resources to move up and take any player. LT is important, but not important enough to give up a bunch of draft picks and a blue chip player to grab.

I'd only like to see that for a QB or maybe a once in a generation pass rusher like Lawrence Taylor (couldn't use his nickname due to context).

Really? I'm interested in why you think that? I think he could be a bust also btw.

Fuck NVM - I got the joke -_-

    LOL
The joke went completely over my head :)

I think we have enough D already and I don't think any of the QBs in this draft is a sure enough hit to trade up.

I do think that this LT might be the man though.

    EDIT
Oh good, I'm not the only one who missed the joke. ;)

It isn't about risk tolerance but rather probability. Most trade ups fail, and I want the odds on my side.

    tu ns il
    turnstile

I'm thinking more along the lines of shitty TGG thread subjects and NYDN articles. I know nothing about how good or bad of a player he is.

    Exactly!!!
Because most trade ups fail, on the rare occasions you do hit, you want to hit HUGE!
Huge to you is QB, to me it's also LT

I'm with ya. But if the front office feels that there's no way Mo Wilk is extended this year OR next and he's the only cost to move up it might be worth it. I'm definitely never in favor of an LA Rams esque move but that was splashy for the big move as anything. They better hope Goff or Weintz is the real deal enough to mask a roster devoid of two years of first second and third round talent.

I didn't mind the Redskins making the move for Griffin. I would've moved up for Mariota & Winston. I wouldn't move up for any of these guys though.

My buddy who is a Cowboys fan texted me tonight asking what I thought of a Zach Martin or La'el Collins for Wilkerson trade, straight up. This trade proposal was based upon Tunisil being available when the Cowboys pick at #4. Personally, I'd be 100% down for a swap like that, possibly including a 3rd - mid round pick on their side. Beef up the O-Line with a talented younger player and provide cap space at the same time. What would you guys think about something like that? Obviously this is pure speculation

I've been thinking the whole "draft season" if he busts he instantly becomes Laremy Turnstile.

I'd take Martin in a heartbeat, but not sure about Collins for Mo straight up. I guess that would depend on how far the FO feels they and Mo are apart. If there's virtually no chance of him resigning without a considerable overpay, and Collins is the best offer, I'd definitely prefer him to a comp. pick. Either one would be an awesome start to rebuilding the O line.

Mo for Martin and we swap seconds. I'd do that.

If Wilk can't be resigned, I'm down for this.

If LT is so important, then why, unlike with QB, is there so little correlation between the top LTs and the top teams? A great example is Dallas. Tyron Smith is an elite LT, but when Romo got hurt, they went from 12-4 to 4-12, Smith and all.

If we trade up again for another crap QB in another weak QB draft... ugh.

Mo and the 20 for Anthony Davis and the 7 and if Wentz or Goff falls to 7 a decision for the Jets. Otherwise take the OLB or OT that is going to be there on the 7.

2016 Jet's OL: Clady, Carpenter, Mangold, 7 pick, Davis. That's 3 OL at 27 or under and a sound basis moving forward with the RG or Davis moving to LT if Clady goes out. If the QB is there on the 7 and the Jets decide to take him the OL is: Clady, Carpenter, Mangold, Winters, Davis - which is still better than what we're likely to have for a young guy we trade up for.

I'd wait to see who the Rams pick. I would not trade up for Wentz but Goff is a little bit intriguing

Because LT is not the passer, obviously, but he keep the passer upright.
You need good QB to succeed. And you need to protect him to give him a chance.

I think that deal can set us up very nicely, but I don't know if SF will do it
