Seriously though Sam the Bengal or Panther would look better than Sam the Jet. But your definitely correct to have concerns about him. Just wished I'd seen him once with merely a Mangini or Rex level Head Coach...
I hate Gase but Tanny NEVER looked like absolute crap under Gase, as Sam has with Gase. Sam is to blame too. He can't run like Jackson. He doesn't have the arm that Allen has and doesn't have the heart that Baker has. He's a bust ppl. Just like Rosen. Let's be honest. Without that one Sam Rose Bowl perform? He doesn't get drafted top 20. That game made him an ESPN hype machine and desperate fans such as myself fell for it. Cleveland and Giants didn't NYG even took a RB over Sam! Speaking of Rex? He's ALWAYS said guys like DANIEL JONES is better than freaking Sam... Trevor Lawrence isn't hype. He's one of the greatest ACC QBs of all time and as an FSU fan I'm drooling over the thought of Trevor to replace Sam. Trevor isn't hype man he's amazing.
I'd take a 3rd or 4th for Sam in a heartbeat. Bad coaches. Lack of talent. Etc. It doesn't matter. You're not allowed to be ranked 32nd. Dead last in QB Rating a full 3 years later. Na. No way. And making comments like I'm seeing ghosts last year and then this year after a bad game making remarks like I'm not consistently good enough to play in this league etc it's not allowed. Sam is done here.
"I'm not consistently good enough to play in this league?" I missed that one. Very damning. You got a link? I wanna see that...
His words. Not mine. No Excuses from Sam Darnold: 'I'm Not Playing Consistent Enough to Play Well in This League' https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si...york-jets-sam-darnold-not-playing-well-enough He became dead to me after those remarks.
I can multitask. The Rays give me hope as a Jets fan. Seen us go from laughing stock of baseball to a name change removing Devil from our name to playing in the world series due to great scouting. I hope JD is the scout we've always needed one we land Trevor Lawrence. I'm no longer mad about trading Jamal because if JD has an awesome plan? We'll draft two offensive players with the picks we got from Seattle and build around Trevor as my Rays have built around our pitching. I've gotta believe JD has a plan.
Yes. He's mentally done. And sadly he never had the physical ability that a Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen or Trevor Lawrence has.
At the time I suggested drafting Lawrence and letting Sam and Lawrence battle it out, I was unaware that the Jets had to decide this upcoming offseason whether to take the 5th year option on Sam. I thought that they could do that at some point during the season. With what I know now, I think the Jets should take Lawrence and trade Sam. That's not because of what it might do to Sam or Lawrence. I still see no reason why QBs should just be handed the job. They ought to have to compete and win the starting job. I think Sam should be traded because I don't think he will ever work out/develop here. I think he needs a change of scenery. It's also due to the 5th year option thing. I agree that you don't trade Sam until you have the #1 pick locked up and you have Lawrence's word that he will sign with the Jets. I saw tonight that Roddy White is advising Lawrence to stay in school if the Jets have the #1 pick. Fuck Roddy White. He should keep his damn mouth shut. I heard earlier today on the NFL network that it is thought that Sam would bring a low 1st round pick in return. That would give Douglas Lawrence with the #1 pick, and then he'd have two more low 1st round picks and the first pick of the 2nd round. That would be awesome.
Wow. Here I am. Thinking the most we could get for Sam is a 3rd or 4th with the way he's played and looked. But a late 1st?!?!? Omg. Sign me up NC! That would give JD 5 first round picks over the next two years to build up our offense for the first time since Curtis Martin days. 2nd and 3rd round picks and some FA $ should be used on our horrible defense but all 5 1st round picks (if traded Sam) must be offensive draft selections. 1.) Trevor Lawrence. 2.) WR. 3.) Center. 4.) Guard. 5.) Another WR or an explosive RB. Our offense would be built up over night. Including Becton we'd then have 6 first round picks on offense.
r For what? a third (if that) or later pick? The best thing for the Jets to do is let Sam play out the year and hopefully he can duplicate the last 4 or 5 games he had last year when he rebounded for being on the sidelines. Why would you sell your first round pick when his stock is so low?
Why? Because he's a former 3rd overall pick who 3 years later is ranked 32nd in QB Rating. Dead last. You trade him for anything and call it a day. Say what you say about Tanny leaving Gase for Tennessee etc but Tanny NEVER put up these crap numbers with Gase in Miami. Ever! Sam is horrible beyond repair.
He didn't say that - that is an interpretation - he said "I'm Not Playing Consistent Enough to Play Well in This League" - that is nothing - that is just saying "I need to get more consistent" - it is no different to 101 things losing QBs say all the time that is not saying "I am not good enough to play in the NFL"
After the whole seeing ghosts out there episode he was mentally finished IMO. That comment solidified it for me.
JETS will draft a new QB..... Sam will end up on Pittsburgh. Steps in after Big Ben retires. Turns in to Terry Bradshaw 2.0. Goes to HOF in Black and Gold
