Here's an idea. What about Julius Peppers? He's due $20 million next year if Carolina franchises him again so it's highly doubtful that they'll resign him. It sounds like he'd be available in free agency. He's also stated that he wants to play OLB in a 3-4, which we can offer and he'd be a nice upgrade over Bryan Thomas/Gholston. We can then focus the draft on DL/OL/2nd CB.
I dont see us making any huge splashes this off season. But with the potential for an uncapped year who the hell knows. Rex is a great evaluator of defensive talent...give me quality guys who fit in his system rather than big names. Shit...Jimmy Leonard...look how well he's played this year and I'm sure he wasnt at the top of too many lists last year. I just see small tweeks rather than huge moves. But in the end...what the fuck do I know.
He's hasn't done much...that was the point of the thread--we could catch lightning in a bottle by getting him on the cheap--Anyone who draft Heyward Bay with the 6th overall pick might be stupid enough to take Gholston/Rhodes off our hands for a guy like McFadden. Check the stats for the jets super generic offense--how many TDs have we had the last 6-7 games? Very few. My thread went over about like I predicted--most people were critical of ANY proposed change but offered nothing about what THEY think the jets should do--In other words, they tell you what they're against but never tell you what they are FOR in terms of change.
