The kid is from Brooklyn, he is 6-6 350 and no fat. The fat is between his ears. He is is the kind of guy you trade a 6th for and hope that being around Mom will help him. These are the kinds of deals I hate that JD is not making. Yes, he could bust but what is the cost? If you get him focused, which a good team should be able to do, you get a starter for 3-4 yrs. With a team with so many holes, how are we missing out on him. I was crazy in my early 20s . I needed a company to rein me in. If you have a good program guys like this are gems
I totally disagree. If JD had been in charge and Saleh and his staff had been here for 3-4 years, they had their culture firmly established, and had a solid core of veteran leaders, then it would have perhaps been ok to take a flyer on Wilson, but with a rookie CS, their trying to instill a new culture here, the very last thing they need is a lazy head case causing problems and distracting other players and the CS. They don't need the headache. It doesn't matter how talented he is. We have plenty of other ways to get players without having to resort to that level of desperation. NFL teams aren't babysitting services. IMO he needs to grow up first, and then decide if he wants to have the privilege of playing in the NFL.
It strikes me that there are better places to go than south Florida if you're hoping to clean up your act and have been connected to illegal drugs. There's a pretty sizable chance that this won't end well for anyone.
Minnesota is probably the location with the lowest drug use. Green Bay has the highest rate of alcohol abuse and is in the grips of a serious spike in Meth and heroine abuse.Since 2017 rates have tripled yearly.
I think the issue would be the night life of Miami and asouth Beach. But maybe he likes hanging out in drug infested neighborhoods scoring meth and whatever else as opposed to the glitz and glamor
id take him all day for a 6 or 7, id want to get out of there too with that tool bag of a coach. i hate to hear oh culture this and that. sometimes guys just need a change of venue. he obviously does. we always like to blame the player right off the bat, i wonder why... but often times its just not a good fit for multiple reasons and sometimes guys get to new locations and prosper. no reason not to take a shot, weve seen guys do it all the time, sometimes it works most times it doesnt. and thats a risk id be more than willing to take with a dogshit pick.
lol u beat me to it, JonathanVilma, I was just about to post this. It is obvious at this point that Wilson has serious issues.
I don't want him on the Packers, but Green Bay is a pretty safe, low tempo place. It's honestly not any different than the neighboring cities.
