Thinking, depending on the combine of course, the jets would either have to trade down in the first, (a distinct possibility given Tanny's track record) or trade up in the second to get Britt, as 17 is too early, 53 is too late for him. Have seen numerous mocks that have us taking Hakeem Nicks in the second... either way, we definitely need a receiver that can get down field. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=183652 Here is video of one of the sick catches you will ever see... again, no reason to draft the guy, just a crazy catch... Is Al Toon's kid coming out this year? Can't remember whether he was an underclassman. I think his name's Nick Toon. He plays for Wisconsin.
Nick Toon was a freshman at Wisconsin this year... modest stats. Has very good size (6-3) and pretty good speed coming out of HS. I am not a Badger guy, so just been reading up on him, but seems he had a decent freshman year, with 17 for 257 and TD in essentially 8 games...
Nicks is a great player. Maclin would be a great addition too, if he enters. There is no need to trade for a receiver when we can get a great receiver in the draft.
Seems like you have seen Nicks... watched some highlights, can you tell me anything about his speed/size combo? Perhaps an NFL potential comparison?
I did some research on Kenny Britt and I have to admit, I like what I see. Hope to see more of this kid at the combine.
There are enough good receivers coming out that we should be able to pick up one. That will also make for an interesting camp too, with Stuckey and Clowney fighting with him for a spot. Coles is one good hit away from being benched for concussion syndrome.
I think he's a big reason for TJ's recent success. When he leaves, it'll be TJ Cryinformama, IMO. Chris Henry's skillz didn't hurt either. Ocho is too young to be falling off now. I'd take him for a 3rd in a heartbeat. I suspect so would Woddy.
I beg to differ. While there are a lot of those around, I have seen no evidence of Ocho being one. Sure, he's an unabashed self-promoter, but it's never at the expense of his teammates a la TO vs. D-Mac or Shockey vs. Eli. I think Woddy would love to have such a media draw, especially considering the impending Burt shuffle. I do challenge you to find an instance where Ocho has been a "cancer". I just don't see it, and considering where he's played, he's had plenty of opportunities to call out his teammates.
weren't there reports that he had some fisticuffs in the locker room with Marvin Lewis of all people?
PFT bullshit: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/sh...ad-Johnson-punched-Marvin-Lewis?urn=nfl,70610 edit: It may be true: http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/03/06/more-than-two-years-later-vindication/ It could go either way, but really, what kind of coach lets his player punch him without repercussions? F-it, I hate "Mangini" guys...I want "Lewis" guys. You know, the ones that kick ass.
I dunno, mang. With a new coaching regime coming in....i'm not sure i'd want some media show-boater on the roster disrupting the continuity of the team. If Ocho had Andre Johnson's persona/work ethic...i'd be more supportive of the idea
