Nevermind the value chart, I'd do this in a heatbeat. 3 players in the top 50 vs 1 in the top five. A no brainer. Truth is that these ratings mean little to nothing. NOBODY knows how these guys do at in the pros. Plus you would probalby pay less for those three players than you would for the #4. I hope we do this. Imagine paying #4 money for a Kyle Boller? Nuff said.
We could get so many high quality linemen in the 2nd round. That's exactly what we need. I'd love this trade.
Okay... A. DeAngelo will fall out of the Top 15 IMO. Arizona, Baltimore and Green Bay no longer have a first round market for a RB. B. This would be an amazing trade; And I'm sure the FO could squeeze a late 7th rounder out of Minnesota too. Considering we get something for Abraham, this would be a great situation. We'd have the 17, 35, 47, 49 plus the pick for Abraham. We could adress quite a bit of needs here. C. However, I don't believe this happens and that it is purely speculation... But it would be a great trade...
I'd probably have to do it. You can use the two 2nd rounders to move up and get a 1st round grade player. If we can somehow get the #15 from Atlanta, then this is a must.
i would love this.... one first round pick three 2nd rounders one third rounders three frouth round picks that's 8 picks in the first 4 rounds (i believe)....depth is needed rigtht now
... And a compensation pick in either the 3rd or 4th of both. PS: When are compensation picks announced?
You can't go wrong with multiple second rounders.. And possibly two firsts if we trade Abe. No matter what, as long as we do NOT trade up I'm happy. No way we can rebuild the core of this team by trading up for one guy, the o-line needs help!
I've thought it over, and looked at the teams that are above us, and I think there is a good chance DeAngelo could fall to #17, anyone else think so? Take the trade, draft DeAngelo, and grab the extra 2nd rounders.
If we were to trade down to 17 I doubt we would spend it on a RB. I honeslty think they would target Chad Greenway or maybe even an Olineman. If there is one position on this team that is pretty deep it is RB. But I agree, Deangelo could fall around there...
I think we would definitely nab a RB, think about it. 1. Curtis definitely showed his age in 05 and can't take all the snaps anymore or even be that effective. He's got 1, maybe 2 years tops left in the tank. 2. Blaylock and Houston are OK, but nothing special. Houston is a good powerback, but not a starter. With DeAngelo we get an all-round feature back. He's got speed, power, and can catch too. We'd be set at the RB position for the next decade.
I understand Deangelo will probably be a good player, but I think they will let Martin carry the rock this year while splitting time with Ced...I think next year would be a good year to go RB. We are rebuilding so its time to lay the foundation with a QB. Is it impossible the Jets draft a RB? No not at all... If we do though will it be on the first day? I dont think so.
If they were going to trade down to #17, I think Manny Lawson would be a definite possibility since he is definately a prototypical 3-4 OLB.
I don't mind her posts.....but I agree that avatar is disturbing. One thing I've noticed is that nearly every post she makes gets one star. I have often wondered if she rates her own posts 1 star....as sort of a signature to go along with the "~ ~ ~". Either that or someone just hates her posts. I kinda like the off the wall stuff I read in her posts. For all the Harry Potter fans out there, Kelly's posts are the equivilent of "The Quibbler"....always a little odd and hard to believe, but there might be some truth in there. DbJ Edit - Oh....and I would do this deal if it is for real. We have multiple needs....plenty of good players in round 2.
what I'd love about this deal is it sets us up beautifully. For round 1 there is always the chance that some highly rated player slides. But - if not then there is the opportunity to fill one of our biggest needs - RT. Marcus Mcneill would def be there and he should wind up being a road grader. Then with the extra seconds you could get more depth on the Oline as well as maybe take a flier on somebody high risk/high reward in the later rounds(No I am not talking about Vick!). BTW - you don't lay a foundation with a QB. You do it with an Oline.
