This is the kind of trade that allows you to add the depth you sorely miss along the O-line and D-line.

    If its true that is.

Too big a drop. I don't like it. The Jets are a team who desperately need a game changer as well as someone who will generate interest, excitement. You're not going to get that at #17.

We're in it for the long haul and that means quality players at a number of positions not one superstar surrounded by dreck.

I've seen this rumor around before and I think it has some legs. A 2d & 3rd from Atlanta for Abe + a likely third round compensatory pick & we'd have Viking's first, four second rounders and three third rounders.

yeah, that is moving down too far. From what I've read, there is a big drop off in talent after pick 40...

I would rather trade for their first round pick next year so we could trade up and get Quinn. Willams, brick, or hawk are great players and I dont see us passing up on one of these guys to get more second round value.

I want DeAngelo, and that is too far. 7-9 area, not 15-18 area.

2nd round? No chance, I would be shocked if he falls out of the top 10. After Bush, he will be the next back taken, guaranteed.

Small point. IF we did this, we could make moving from 17 to 15 a part of the Atlanta deal (to the extent Atl didn't give us 15 as part of that deal).

That said I don't like it either, too low, I'd love to move down and get Justice and he won't be there at 17.

Don't want any part of Deangelo but I think there's a chance he will be there at 17.

I personally think 2nd round is a strech. However with Arizona signing Edge, Baltimore signing Jamal Lewis and Mike Anderson and Minnesota signing Chester Taylor (gave him 14 mil). I think the odds of Deangelo and/or Lendale beign there at #17 are pretty good at this point.

Next back after Bush? Maybe, but who's taking a RB in the top 10? The only team from 5-11 that could need a RB is the 49ers at #6. I will also say right now that if they pass on AJ Hawk or D'Brickashaw to take Deangelo Williams they are very dumb.

Who's taking him in the top 10? Barring trades nobody. In fact who in the top 16 other than Cleveland could you see taking a RB first round?

RB's don't have the value people think, why do you think people weren't all over Edge and Alexander.

Why are people so keen on grabbing the big name. More big names coming out of college become busts than they do all pro players. Trading down and picking up 2 more picks in the top 50 is kinda hard to not do.

I don't presume to know the mindset of Tangini and Co. ... lord I wish I did, but that has to be a tempting offer ... again if it is true.

Actually now that I think about it, there really are no more teams in the top 10 that will take a RB. But I can't see D. Williams falling to #17. We shouldn't risk such a low drop. The Ravens may jump after him at number 13. He's the best RB prospect after Bush, hard to believe that 16 teams would pass him up for another position.

I'd do it. I love 2nd rounders. The more we can get the better.
