Nope Pats swoop in and get a CB. Rich get richer I guess.

No it is a team desperate for someone who doesn't suck at CB.

And the rare case FA. (Drew Brees)

Pats get Talib. Desperate at CB at this point. Everything they throw out there doesn't work it.

If they move the deadline till about week 10 or 11, you might see some more action. Too msny teams still in contention.

So New England lands a Top 20 CB and we sit at a stand still like we did in March.

    Awesome.

Trading away picks is what got us where we are.

No $$ to do anything. Try to deny it as we may, the Jets have serious cap issues next year. They will not upgrade the team this year because upgrading means money, and they need to drag all the cap money they can into next year. Mike T.'s decisions are finally biting them in the ass.

We usually traded picks to move up in the draft, not for players who could actually help the team in the middle of the season.

    But I agree.

Doesn't mean we have to sit at stand still. Could have moved someone to gain picks.

Oh, no doubt. I'm not saying we should have traded for the world. Heck, trade someone away. Do something. Clear up some of that $18M over the cap with only 36 players signed situation we have coming up in March.

    Should be a joy.

This is why I don't get why people think if we change the QB we're instant contenders. I'd like to change the QB, too, but don't expect to win shit until 2014.

I agree with you. I think trading anybody considered "quality" at this point would be considered tapping out on this season though. While watching the team, it's obvious they are going nowhere, they won't acknowledge it.

I would love to try and dump salary while accumulating draft picks.

the sanchez and harris signings were terrible. especially since they came when both guys were clearly not going to cut it going forward

thats kind of the point... im not saying change QBs cause it means we win the superbowl this year. im saying do it to see what we have in tebow/mcelroy so we know what we have moving forward

Who? The Jets season isn't over. They can turn this thing around. I know it seems highly unlikely at this point but stranger things have happened.

IT helps that nobody has really distanced themselves in the AFC. It could be like a 09 scenario where we might lose late in the season (ATL) yet every team ahead of us loses to an AFC team and we control our destiny somehow. It's very weak and 9-7 will get the job done for the playoffs. No 11-5 as a 6 seed in the AFC

The Chargers losing tonight could help out a little bit.

    Top 20? Says who?

Talib is alright but he is not a top 20 CB.

He is a top notch piece of shit, though.

I would not want that scumbag on my team.

As for the Jets not doing anything, they are 3-5 and going nowhere. No reason to trade a draft pick for a player.

Stranger things have happened I guess, but there isn't nearly enough talent on the team to turn it around. You are fooling yourself if you think otherwise. It's over.

I don't think this team is going anywhere. I hope it is. I'm a fan, and I try to be an optimistic person in general. Rex has turned his team around before.

The question remains though - who would you trade for value? What trade chips do we have that are tradeable and don't severely limit the team?

wouldnt trade draft picks. we simply have been gutted of too many recently and it is one of the reasons we have no depth.

if anyone would take any of our linebackers, id do it. we need to get younger, quicker, more atheltic. if even for a late draft pick... at the very least it opens a spot for younger guys to see time.

No one is trading for our aging, over paid linebackers.
