We'll get a comp pick for Breece when he walks. Who knows, maybe they offer him the sack now that they've cleared a ton of cap space. I'm curious to see how this drama plays out this year. If Davis is the goods, I can see them letting Breece walk for the comp pick only. A lot will depend on how good our talent evaluation team (scouts) are about their jobs. I was hoping that dept. got overhauled but looks like we're gonna roll with them at least one more time. What would cause the ultimate destruction of the Jets would be Mougie turning into Idzik 2.0.

This team hasn't been "competent" since before Gase got here. We were barely mediocre at best with this core group. Sometimes you have to admit shit just ain't working anymore and its time for change. We lost nothing today as we weren't a lock to gain anything. What we gained, is opportunity to write a different story than the same old Jet ballad of the last several decades. Yeah, nobody wants to start over, but sometimes you just don't have any other choice.
I'm all for starting over. I was calling for these trades last trade deadline. I'm not, however, for starting over with this coaching staff and front office. Giving them 2-3 more years, minimum, of job security when the Jets should be looking for new staffs on both the sideline and in the front office is signaling that we're not serious about getting this thing turned around. The coaching staff is responsible for the bad start this year and now that same coaching staff will surely be coaching all of these new 1st round picks for the next 3-4 years.
Well, we're stuck with this FO/CS until further notice so, either we support them or walk away from the team. So far, Mougie has not shown himself to be Idzik 2.0 and Glenn isn't Kotite 2.0 so, there's room for optimism. This was always gonna be a learning year for them both. Woody hires newbies. That's what he does period so it's baked in the cake so to speak. Life is much better when everyday isn't an exercise in anger. There's always the chance that the FO/CS might have learned something in '25 that will improve the team in '26 and beyond. The biggest test for this FO/CS will be keeping this roster engaged for the rest of '25. They're professionals so we shouldn't see them play dead although the lure of the #1 pick is pretty tempting.
That’s just it, though…this IS the same old Jet ballad…in every way…new rookie GM, new rookie DC for HC, let’s trade away good players in the hope we can build “sustained success” We’ve seen this movie over and over Who in the fuck is trusting THIS GM and THIS HC to finally get it right? I’ve seen nothing but bullshit and incompetence from AG…he’s a defensive guy and his defense SUCKS. He wanted his handpicked QB in Fields and he SUCKS. He preaches accountability and discipline and we SUCK in both of those areas. And now they are playing the “tear it down to rebuild the right way” card to buy themselves a year or two. It’s fucking criminal.
This is what OJT looks like. We've seen this movie before and as long as Woody owns this team, we'll see it again and again. All we can do is hope some combination of FO/CS will get it right. Either that, or perhaps walk away from the team until Woody breaks tradition and hires a prior successful HC. This is the reality of being a Jet Fan. Nobody ever said it was easy..
This is why you don’t hire scouts to run a team with zero oversight or guidance on team strategy and identity. All they do is try to buy themselves time, with no consideration to fans that haven’t sniffed the playoffs for 15 years. I’m not down for another hapless JD plan of give me 5 years and then maybe maybe we will be competitive (spoiler alert we weren’t nor will we be with that mind set). Trash team, trash owner, no idea what they are doing. This team is not interested in winning at all in the coming seasons, so why should we be interested ?
