no this wasnt realistic, which is why it was an appropriate response. mauer i guess could be realistic.
Okay. Why would say anything was wrong with that? I would love Mauer more than any other player the Yankees don't already have. I like Pujols, but with Teixeira, we don't need him.
If Crawford hit free agency it would be unrealistic for him to become a Yankee? You can't possibly be serious?
Another? While there's no doubt that he hit much better in Coors Field than he did otherwise, Coors Field is not the hitter's park it once was. It happens to be that Holliday fit well there, but no one else had anything close to the numbers he put up there. The days of Coors Field being the best hitter's park in baseball ended with the humidor. It's still a good hitter's park, but nothing like it was. In park factor, it's 12th in homers, just ahead of Citi Field. It used to routinely lead the majors. Yankee Stadium is by far and away #1 in homers.
On a different note, the Metropolitans are said to be releasing Doctors Doom, Lecter, Jekyll, Octopus, Kevorkian, and the rest of the medical staff to make room for something big. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Oscar Goldman and his team from the Office of Scientific Intelligence.
Holliday gets 4 hits in his debut and I look like a chump. Oh well. I just have never been a big Holliday fan. I dont know what it is but I am not impressed with him. Crawford only has a couple years left on his contract and with the way the crowds are NOT going to the Trop, the Rays will not be able to re-sign him. They got him cheap before but will not be able to do so again so the Rays will have to trade him before his contract comes up to get something for him. That would be some bidding war but if Cashman comes out and says that we will try to get either Holliday or Crawford. I would rather it be Crawford. The only thing is that Holliday would be the FA and it would cost only money while it would cost players and money to get Crawford.
Hmm. Seems reasonable. I say make the move. I love Hughes and the other guys' potential but Halladay is better than any of our starters.
No. Hughes is going to be a front-line starter, and Montero and Jackson both have great potential. Halladay is great, but it's too much. I was willing to make a deal along those lines a couple weeks ago, but not anymore. Let Halladay go elsewhere.
It would, but his contract would expire at the end of the season, while Drew still has 2 years after this one.
Well you can take the yankees out of the washburn sweepstakes as according to Klapish the M's want Gardner AND the Melk Man. I think I'll pass.
New Mariners regime really loving outfield defense. Washburn wouldn't be the best option in a homer run park like Yankee Stadium anyway.
