I think Darnold and Mayfield are both looking like great picks - they are well above the other three rookie QBs at this point . I also think Darnold and Mayfield - actually all five QBs to a degree should not be painted with the same broad brush . Mayfield for instance has the best stats for a reason. He has better protection and better weapons . Darnold has looked a lot better recently but that may be because of better natural ability rather than weapons .....
Josh Allen is at 51.7% completion percentage. That is worse than Sanchez year 1. I mean that is scary bad accuracy
Yes he can run well but how long is that going to last ? A couple of good shots and not very long ......but we knew he was the wild card going into the draft .
I can’t say enough how impressed I’ve been with Sam these last three games. He would have won them all if the Jets had an average defense . Question for you - I didn’t watch the game yesterday . Did the Jets win the OT coin toss and defer? Or did GB win and took the ball ?
Jets lost the toss. Green Bay took the ball, got a bunch of sham penalties their way and scored. But Darnold looked magnificent. His decision making was lightning quick. Very decisive and was putting the football in the rights spots at all times There wasn't even a single throw that looked like it had a chance at being picked. He had a great game And Herndon is going to be the guy we thought Amaro was going to be. I'd be shocked if he catches less than 60 passes next year.
OK I was gonna say if the Jets deferred that would of been the stupid ass of all stupid ass decisions . Get the ball and tell Darnold to go get us a TD...especially the way he was playing and the way the defense was playing...but they lost the toss so no harm no foul. I’m quite impressed with both him and Herndon too. I would love to see the Jets go out and sign a guy like Jesse James from the Steelers to pair with Herndon for the next 4 plus years....good blocker . Forget Tomlinson. Give Leggett one more summer to prove himself .....TE is finally looking good. Now we need EDGE rushers, a quality OL and a couple of more skill players.
Jackson is trailing right behind them. Demonstrated some great throws and runs against the Chargers. Jackson is far better then Allen. It's not even close. I still think Rosen will also catch on.
Short term: Mayfield >>> Darnold = Jackson > Allen > Rosen Long term: Mayfield = Darnold >> Jackson > Rosen = Allen. Of course if the Johnsons fuck up the coaching hire then all bets are off with Darnold. The Cards also need to get it right for Rosen's sake.
He needs that body of work for the next 5 years, along with stupid interceptions all over the place. And ass fumble. So - don't disrespect my son. You may hate El Nacho, but his legacy will live on forever. Allen? I don't know if he will be remembered barely 3 years after he is retired.
Eli Manning comes close, avg 60.8 over 4 seasons but two of them were under 60% and his first 4 seasons in the NFL were all under 60% one under 50% and over half of his pro seasons are under 60% and career avg is 59.8. 2 superbowls in the bag. Not saying Allen is going to do this but he is doing better than a lot of us thought.
He’s doing exactly what I thought through the air, and that’s be awful. Can only make one throw because of the touch he lacks and awful accuracy. He’s been way more effective overall than I thought because of his legs but as I think we’ve all agreed here, that’s not what you want from your QB. Let’s just all be thankful they we not only didn’t draft Allen, but did draft Sam.
Jackson has been very comparable with Allen. Most of their effectiveness at this point involves their ability to run. Rosen is hot garbage. He offers nothing and I don't see it improving.
He is all legs but he has been a little bit better than awful through the air (look at Peterman), so come on cut him a little slack, he is only with the Bills not the cheats and after all it is xmas PS I wouldn't be swapping Sam for him lol
