I would put Y/A in here since it’s probably the best indicator of QB performance. Marries completion percentage with aggressiveness.
Maybe add rushing touchdowns if you add fumbles and fumbles lost? Love this thread though, gonna be awesome to track throughout the season.
I wonder what it's like being a coach/GM that REALLY REALLY wanted Darnold but had to settle for Allen. Seeing Darnold's success in NY at the same time seeing Allen implode in Buffalo has to be hard to wake up to each day. 'If only....' has to be in their heads.
I like ANY/A (adjusted net yards per attempt). It's yards per attempt adjusted for TDs, INTs, and sacks.
Sam and Baker=Two talented Rookies that are saviors for the Fans and who will keep 2 Head Coaches employed
I will try and add a few recommendations on here. I'm trying to keep it somewhat limited just so the stats don't become a page long. Keep it simple and to the point, but yes I agree that a few things should be added. Gonna add them now
Out of the four Allen is the one who shouldn't be playing. Everyone kept saying he has a lot of talent but at the same time was a considered a project who needed to sit this year. It also doesn't help him that their offense with the exception of McCoy is garbage. As for Darnold I am glad the Jets selected him. He progressing nicely and looks like he will be the real deal. I can't wait to see how good he becomes when he gets more experience and the Jets build the team around him.
Mahomes hasn't learned that yet. Favre went into the HOF with stupid stuff like that all the time. Some guys never learn. The problem isn't the throw across your body to the other side of the field. The problem is the defender on the other side of the field. If there isn't a defender and you have a wide open receiver with space to work in those horrible looking throws can be game changers. Darnold has the ability to make those plays and should make them when they are there. He needs to learn the closing speed in the NFL and what windows he can put the ball in and what he can't. He's doing great. I suspect he is going to make a lot of big plays on throws across his body to the other side of the field once he understands the window.
Yep. Closing speed is something he needs to learn. The lad is doing 'reyt good' but that interception on Sunday was a prime example of learning what you can give, take or lose if you misjudge player speed. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Good read...I was wondering how he was doing in comparison to other rookies. One thing I like is it seems almost every week we seem to be saying this week was his best so far. That means he is improving week to week.
Yes sir! By all accounts, he has gotten progressively better every week. This past week was by far his best game decision wise and efficiency wise. Against Indy, he was off target on only 3 of his 30 attempts. He also finished with a weekly league high PFF grade against all other QBs with a grade of 91.2.
Don't tell Rock that. He was solidly on the Allen train. Hey Allen and the others may still be good. I had no idea they could get Darnold and wanted Rosen. Now it's about watching Darnold development.
I would add in sacks as often sacks are a product of either the QB running to early or holding the ball too long.
