If we end up with 3 starters from this draft, it's a success. Anything more is gravy.

Funny you say this, i believe one of the major reports to come out about Gase was help do anything to save his own ass. I believe it.

Mims is on pace for a 900 yard 16-game season which lines up pretty perfectly with the eye test. He’s absolutely got WR1 potential. I can’t wait for him to play in an NFL offense.

Love the way Hall played again. Davis was meh... he’s got a long ways to go before he’s a starting caliber safety rather than just a safety who is starting. Saw Zuniga in on a couple plays which was nice. And Becton of course is just dominating.

Other than the abortion of a Morgan pick, this class is gonna net us some starters.

    Becton: Potential All Pro
Mims: A solid pick, will be a good number 2 and possession WR. Just keep him healthy.
Davis: Solid pick, will be a starter but not sure if he is a true gamechanger.
    Mann: Potential All Pro
Bryce Hall: A solid pick. Seems to be holding his own as a rookie thrown into the fire halfway through the year. If he gets speed back, watch out.

Overall, a very solid class. Would love to know more about Zuniga and Cam Clark but it's a good class all things considered.

Based on what I’ve seen so far:

    -Becton: Plus-Level Starter
    -Mims: Plus-Level Starter
    -Davis: Starter W/ Plus Potential
    -Zuniga: Rotational/Developmental Player
    -Perine: Rotational Player
    -Morgan: Long Term Developmental Player
    -Clark: Unknown
    -Hall: Starter W/ Plus Potential
    -Mann: Plus-Level Starter

Just remember, not every draft will look this good. Starters with 5/8 Picks and 1 more as rotational is great that’s a 75% hit rate. If he can hit around 50-60% with starters and rotational players, the Jets will be in good shape. As long as they consistently hit on those picks from the top 3 rounds.

I think you and others are way too low on the Morgan pick. It may not pan out but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t smart to take a swing.

I have seen nothing out of Davis that makes me think he will be av solid starter. I hope I'm wrong.

You're right that most drafts won't see a hit rate of 75%. But given how devoid of talent the Jets roster was(and still is), we needed a class that yielded many contributors, a few of which have all pro upside.

He has had some nice moments. Just keep in mind that he is a rookie currently playing in a secondary featuring 4-5 rookies on any given play, including multiple UDFA’s. Not to mention backup LB’s in front of him, and not much pass rush.

I feel like you don’t take a swing in the 4th round especially when the roster is void of talent in almost every area. But if this is the biggest problem with the draft class then that’s good news.

He’s got the attributes you want but I don’t think he’s even remotely close to putting it together. It’s definitely enough to get excited about what playing for a competent team could do for him. Hopefully we are one of those next year.

It's the raw ability that excites me, along with the enthusiasm. He's also made some nice instinctive plays which obviously is a natural quality since he's only played a couple of games so far.

Drafting QB’s should be like a day fishing. You don’t only bring one piece of bait and go home if the line breaks.

The Eagles fans would have said the same thing about using the pick elsewhere, but now they have a legitimate option behind Wentz who nobody expected to fall off a cliff. I am of the opinion a QB with legitimate upside should be selected every couple of years. If you have that opportunity in the 4th round, go for it.

There’s a big difference between Hurts and Morgan. One of them was a highly respected college QB that put up 32 TD 8 INT on 70% completion for a powerhouse school his final year and the other put up 14 TD 5 INT on 58% completion for a turd program his final year. If drafting QBs is like fishing then the Eagles were fishing in Alaska for salmon and we were fishing for tuna in the bayou.

Well of course they are a different caliber but James Morgan was selected 72 picks later as well, a much lower investment.

it's crazy to think we're 0-11 yet legitimately pleased/excited about our rookies. I think JD has done more in this draft than the prior 4 or 5 years even all those 3s and 6s

Mims reminds me of Al Toon, a very lanky receiver, hopefully Denzel will put on some muscle and becomes a little more explosive after the catch.

I agree, I’m excited about this draft class as well.

Some of the rookies are playing well.

Davis definitely needs to improve his awareness. He's not a starting caliber S right now.

Zuniga needs to show up, but this is another example of a young guy not getting the time he should.

    Perrine looked OK

White im just disappointed we went qb with a roster with so many holes.

Mann, Mims and Beckton look legit.

Hall looked good today. I have high hopes for him. He's getting burned sometimes but he's only played 2 games

I wish I knew more about the prospect and saw him in college to evaluate what I thought about the pick.

But without a solidified starter at quarterback (including going into the draft), I like the idea of continuing to draft quarterbacks until we have one.

So. Do you really believe you would've been more satisfied with Colby Parkinson or Josiah Scott or Brycen Hopkins?
