Yeah, so throw them the 7th we got back for the Favre deal and rework his contract to something more incentive based.

    I concur. He's well worth a 7th, especially as a possession receiver.

He's only under contract for one more year, which will cost 7.9M (6.65M salary + 1.25M roster bonus).

Not bad for a 7th, but he'll probably want a longer deal. That and even a 7th isn't worth a 1 year fill-in unless you see us going all the way. I wouldn't discount a Sheppard-type of either/or-1-or-more type of contract.

i like holt as he is a better player then coles

if they get holt, the jets can still draft a wideout early in the draft and have him grow into a role on the team, instead of throwing him to the fire right away, problem with getting holt though is he probably wants a shot at another ring and the jets arent at that level

I'd absolutely accept Holt. I think he's got more left in the tank at this point than Lav Coles, and his presence couldn't hurt Clowney, Stuckey, and draft pick's development... He'd be a good stop-gap WR.

isnt Holt actually a year younger then Coles?

anyway..i think hes definitely got stuff left in the tank..his presence alone should give our youth time to develop..not to mention hed be one heck of a mentor

I like Holt a lot. He'll bring a lot to the table and won't have any issues off the field. His numbers last year weren't even that bad for someone on a team as dysfunctional as the Rams.

yes that true BUT how much will count against the cap if they do is the question. For all we know there cap hit maybe not that much this year.

An excellent possibility to consider, though players usually restructure in part, in order to get a big chunk up front.
