Mediocre, JAG QB's are drafted every single year in the NFL.

They are like a dime a dozen.

I'll be disappointed if McElroy doesn't get the backup job. I thought he looked pretty capable back there in the pre season.

Mediocre, jag QB's don't have 2x as many playoff victories as Tom Brady since entering the league.

I'm surprised nobody here has said John Abraham yet. I'm on board if he's cheap. He's better suited in the 4-3 but he can do what Ellis did.

And watch him sprain his vagina in the first snap of the first game, only to see him take the entire fucking year off? Pass.

Its been reported that Chad Henne is not going to be offered a new contract by Miami - I think its more than likely that he will be backing up Sanchez next season.

I'd like to see what the Broncos do with Brady Quinn after his comments just came out. I think I'd rather have Quinn back up Sanchez than Henne.

Like Sanchez had anything to do with those playoff wins.

And he is 0-2 in his two most important playoff games.

This is the point I have been making. Abraham due to his age, not his performance on the field will come cheaper than Williams and Avril. Just because he was injured and sat out of a playoff game (during a contract year) a lot of Jets fans not only forget how good he was for us but ignore how consistent he has been for the Falcons since he left.

With out cap problems we should be looking at guys like him instead of Mario Willams or Peyton Manning.

 Sanchez just has a higher passer rating and ypa than Brady in the playoffs. So if Sanchez had nothing to do with those wins might as well say Brady had nothing to do with his playoff wins.... Pointless argument

Agreed. Even though Abraham left a bad taste in the mouth of the fans, if we can get him cheap, the Jets should look into it. They cannot get a big time FA, so if they can fill holes with cheap yet good players they have to looking into it.

Nah - Sanchez didn't do anything to help them win in the playoffs.

Oh please, those playoff games are ancient history.

How did your Boy Wonder perform down the stretch last year where one victory would have landed the Jets in the playoffs?

Oh yea, Sanchez went 0-3 and played like crap.

I agree but given his familiarity with Soprano you have to think that its going to go to him (unless there was a major issue between the two).

    Henne is a bad idea

Henne would be a terrible backup. It also spells QB controversy, since he was Sparano's guy. It's a terrible idea, I don't know why people want it. Get Brady Quinn or David Garrard or something.

Also anybody else think the Jets should take a shot on Haynesworth? The dude was once a beast, and if anybody can get something out of him it's Rex. I think he's absolutely worth a look.

16/25 194 yards 3 TD's 0 INT's 127.3 QB Rating vs a Division Rival on the road. where he was 0-2 going in and the last was a 45-3 nightmare.... GUTS

I love Rex as our coach but I dont know we have ever seen evidence of him being able to motivate players any more than the next guy.

I wouldnt go nuts if we signed him to an incentive laden 1 yr deal but neither would I be especially thrilled by the prospect.
