Even if Kerrigan falls, I wouldn't want him. He isn't athletic or speedy enough and I think he'll be a better 4-3 DE than 3-4 OLB. The only players I would want the Jets to take at #30 are Houston, Reed, Wilkerson, Taylor, Paea or Heyward, (in that order). If none of those guys are there at #30, then unless JJ Watt or Cameron Jordan have somehow fallen to #30, I'd rather the Jets trade back into the 2nd round, if possible and get whatever they could for the trade back. Then they could go for Martez Wilson, Sam Acho, or Christian Ballard. It's hard to know where guys might fall, but in the 3rd round (unless they use the 4th round pick they received for trading down to move up ) I hope they're looking at guys like Kenrick Ellis,Jaiquawn Jarrett, Sione Fua, K.J. Wright, and/or Pernell McPhee.
Out of this group, I like Houston and Paea. I think Houston can be a special rusher with a tweak or 2. After watching a bunch of stuff, I'm surprised so many guys are rated ahead of him.
You might be disappointed come draft day! I figured those two and Kerrigan were probably longshots, but at least worthy of discussion. Who else do you like at 30?
Everyone has some warts. The only player in this draft I love is JJ Watt. I'll go with best player available regardless of position.
Found on another Jets' site As usual, the poster who posted this didn't cite where he found it or who wrote it, so take it with a grain of salt. It's interesting enough to post, especially since so many here want the Jets to take Brooks Reed and others like Jabal Sheard a lot.
