If they decide to trade down, signing one of those guys wouldn't be enough. If they traded down, I would hope they could get two pass rushers. Ansah/Fowler or Flowers/Fowler
Unfortunately the timeline doesn’t run like that. Macs going to have to grab who he can and then see what happens in the draft. Rumor has flowers to Miami so ansah and Fowler are likely going to be the best available neither are going to be that game changer we are hoping for but that’s why you have to draft such players. Trade for Houston? Kansas City is said to be shopping him.
It doesn't necessarily have to be those two guys. I am just hoping that they grab 2 bodies to help with pass rush if they opt to trade down. You are likely right though. Unlikely they would be able to snag 2 of the top guys.
Frankly i wouldn’t be mad if they missed on any of these guys and went in to the draft with Copeland and Jenkins. Not sure how much of an upgrade they are over Jenkins or Copeland. True game changers at most positions need to be drafted. That’s why we need to stay at 3 and take the pass rusher that falls.
Alex Collins waived by Baltimore following an arrest earlier this AM - car crash. No thanks. I think it would be wise for us to hold onto Jenkins and Copeland.
he had some poor games, but he wasn't that bad overall, he had a few good games. With a pass-rush, he might perform better. I guess it depends on the price. Who else will play corner with Tru?
I hear that. Free agency predominately for offensive needs and let pick 3 be the star pass rusher. I’m down for it.
I wouldn't say Gase believes in RB by committee. In 17 he went that route because he had too. In 16 it was all Foster until he was injured then all Ajayi, and in 18 it was the same until Gore went out for the year. Plus you don't pay Bell the money he's asking for to minimize his usage, that would be foolish.
Jenkins isn’t bad as a 3-4 olb. Gave us 7 sacks. I know everyone wants Mac to make it rain on an edge rusher when free agency starts but outside of flowers I’m not sure it should happen.if we go into next season with josh Allen and Jenkins as out 3-4 olbs are we really that bad off?
I said minimize his wear & tear not minimize his usage. That means not giving him meaningless carries in blowouts winning or losing & being smart w his workload. Ramping up his workload to justify the the contract is just as foolish as minimizing it.Its about balance.Ideally hes productive, impactful but still fresh
No, we are in a better position. Much rather see them throw money at Bell, Paradis to start off FA. Jenkins and Copeland are good starts. Would love a veteran in FA (preferably one thats not expensive, hoping Robert Quinn gets cut and is healthy), and draft a Josh Allen @ 3 if he's there. With Quinn, he doesn't start but pass rush situations throw him in and keep his reps low. Honestly, don't even want Flowers either. If it ain't the top of the top, then F it, let's get our own young stud.
That's common sense, no one's going to give him meaningless carries in a blowout win or loss. At least not until the game is out of reach. His latest ask, as of 2 days ago, is $50 million fully guaranteed the first 2 years. Your not getting anything out of him after that besides a holdout so you play him just like Pitt did. He's not going to be around 3,4-5 years.
