I wouldn't pin my hopes on Revis.

He could go in as a Patriot. He may be thinking it'll be better for his 'prestige'.

Who cares how you get 'em as long as you get 'em?

Free agency is a tool just like the draft for teams to reach their goal. It has to be used properly but the same goes for the draft.

Again the Jets have historically sucked at drafting players. They've had some big hits in free agency.

Heck even the 2015 team with that offense that set several franchise records was powered by Fitzpatrick, Marshall, Decker. Free agents if I'm not mistaken.

That team wasn't built to last, which is why drafting well is important. External FA's, for the most part, should not be core players.

Revis ain’t going in as a patriot. Don’t be silly

  7. Yeah agreed.

Despite our sour taste from how things ended Darrelle has been very vocal about bring a proud jet & is very reserved, almost apathetic about playing in New England even concerning the ring.

Revis won't go in as a Patriot; he also won't go in as a Jet. Unlike the Baseball Hall of Fame there is no team designation for enshrinement in the NFL hall.

Pierre Garcon is going to hit the market. Yes, he's 32, but as I said with Tate... if he comes here for a year or two and helps Sam develop then it's worth the money, assuming the money is right.

Plus, do you know how many WR screens Gase can call for Garcon on 3rd and 7? Seems like a perfect fit.

I'm not too sure about that, Steve McLendon said this about Bell. "If you get him in here, I know one thing about him. When he steps foot in this building, you're going to get 100 percent from this guy." said Steve McClendon, "If anybody gets him on their team, They're going to get a hell of a player." I'm going to trust a former teammate's opinion, just because Wilk dogged it doesn't mean every big FA will. I also think Revis's poor play had more to do with losing his speed, which he didn't really have to start with.

I agree here. I can't think of a single instance in which Bell was criticized for mailing it in. To assume he will at this point is just being negative to be negative.

It's a fabricated argument that people have to make to not sign Bell because there really isn't any reason to not to. The only legitimate argument is the amount of touches he has but he's still 27 and didn't play for a year, and if you watch the way he plays he doesn't take too many big hits.

  14. And Gase believes in RB by committee. If hes making plays & the team starts winning Jets can manage his work load & minimize the wear & tear.

his desire is worthy to criticize/question for multiple reasons. He put marijuana above the game on numerous occasions and he put himself above the team for a whole season last year

The Jets have money, and center is an extremely important position, I agree they should do this. It just makes sense after losing Long to the Bills, and this guy should be much much better than Long.

But just watching the way Bell plays there is no reason to believe that his normal workload over the 3 years would slow him down to the point where he comes ineffective. Also, we DONT HAVE ANYONE TO PAY. We can sign Bell to a 4 year deal and front load it and have the cap flexibility to still resign Adams and Darnold when the time comes. There is no logically explanation or reasoning somebody can give me to not sign Leveon Bell. We have a young FQB on a rookie deal, USE THE DAMN MONEY, this is the time to win.

Just adding on to your point here, not trying to debate you.

There is no logical explanation that can be given to you to not sign Bell, but there are in fact logical reasons not to.

Again historically the Jets have a overall abominable drafting record. Get people in here who know how to draft players then 'build through the draft' will mean something until then it's just a cliche all talk.

And what's this obsession with sustainable success? Have some success first THEN worry about how to sustain it. Does that make sense?

Some of the Jets best seasons since SB III have been with teams loaded with free agents at key positions. Can you imagine if free agency didn't exist with the way the Jets draft players? *shivers* JEEZ!!!!

We'd be just like the Browns!!!!

The issue isn't Bell's body, it's his head.
