I think an optimistic view of next season is competing for the wildcard. Heck if Brady retires we'll see how things wind up for the Patriots. If not for the schedule I doubt they have 12 wins this year. The Pats are where they are this year solely on the strength of their D. AFC East can actually be a competitive division for once.
One reason for hope on 1/4 and that is #14 Sam Darnold. A great QB can mask a lot of holes on an NFL roster.
