Dungy answered, "I would not. I personally don't want my players to be around that. With the type of music lots of these guys listen to and kind of friends MOST players in the nfl keep I really dont think Rex saying fuck is a big deal at all. Id say most of these nfl guys who grew up on the streets and still have all their shit head old friends (see Michael Vick) have far worse influences that teams should be concerned about
I'd feel the same way if Rex complained to the league about Dungy going door-to-door spreading his gospel. Like i said....Dungy is entitled to his opinion....but don't bitch to the league about it.....it's not a rated PG league. I'm not questioning Dungy's coaching ability....i think he's a great coach.
I like Dungy but he wouldn't be anything without Peyton Manning. I know Rex hasn't done anything yet as a coach but he's a better defensive coach then Dungy. I'm pretty sure that was Dungy's specialty yet the Colts were always held back by there defense most seasons. Rex turned a mediocre defense into the best in the league with basically the same personnel.
Dungy is a Jesus Freak who hates being around profanity. Doesn't surprise me that he'd say something like this. I could care less.
Actually....Dungy built that Bucs superbowl winning team.....Gruden just took the keys and drove that Ferrari.
Maybe if Rex tones down the language and kills some dogs for his entourage's amusement then he and Tony can patch it up.
Dear Tony, Shut the fuck up, you stupid baby. You're an over-rated dingus, who didn't even run his own offense. Why don't you go mentor some more mentally retarded ex (and soon to be re) convicts. You smug boring f'n twat. Love, Scruggy P.S. You're butt sticks out in the back, you cheese face biscuit head!
Has Dungy switched off his Donny Osmond records long enough to moan that Kris Jenkins is showing too much ankle? Hey Tony, you stupid cunt.
The thing that pisses me off is this wouldn't even be a topic of discussion if not for Hard Knocks. Do people actually think he is putting on a show and dropping more f-bombs just for the cameras? Hell no, us Jet fans know how he is and this is the way he ran this team from day 1. HBO Hard Knocks knew what they were getting into and they knew people would watch. Everyone wanted an inside look or else they wouldn't have tuned in. I'm sure the rest of the NFL, players and coaches included weren't surprised when they watched Rex go off because they already knew what he was about. He is getting his team ready for the up-coming season at training camp. Not like he was visiting an elementary school giving a lecture with some players dropping f-bombs. Bottom line if we weren't on the show it wouldn't even be discussed.
You know, this clip made me start to wonder... If Dungy is so dedicated to cleaning up the league, what the hell happened with Marvin Harrison? I don't recall Dungy suggesting Goodell look more closely into the dead bodies in Philly. And I don't recall Dungy reaching out for Marvin (a player a hallway away) the way he did for Mike Vick. I really like Tony Dungy, he's a good guy. But glass houses and stones and all that. Dungy rode a quiet criminal to glory. Maybe silence and choice words aren't all they're made out to be.
His last name is Dungy. I find that extremely insulting. Goodell should force him to change his last name so he doesn't corrupt children minds and set a bad image for the NFL.
I'll reiterate....nobody (including myself) is questioning Dungy's coaching ability or his character. My problem is that Dungy suggested that the league should get involved....because HE FEELS that Rex isn't representing the league properly. And i think Dungy should stick to handing out bibles or shut his fucking cakehole.
