I hope we don't sign him. I really don't think he'll be happy not being a starter and I also think that he's lost it, he's just like Jones at this point, a JAG, and he isn't going to play for JAG money.

Pretty cool. Schefter tweeted earlier, Tomlinson would likely sign for less than what TJ signed for in Kansas City.

BTW, we don't need the players to sign for him because the Bolts cut him. So dont worry that we won't have enough cash.

As others have stated, LT is visiting the Vikes and Jets knowing full well he will never be the starter or get anywhere near the amount of touches he got in San Diego. If he was not going to be happy in a backup role, why would be waste his time making those two visits? Before he signs that contract, the team will let him know EXACTLY the type of role they envision for him, which is primarily a backup/change of pace RB. If he doesn't like it, the Jets won't sign him. Plain and simple.

I think signing LT would be huge. The man had 12 TDs last year so he still has that knack for the end zone which is exactly what we need from him. Not to mention having the the best O-line in the league blocking for him would give LT a huge boost. He has great receiving skills and we need another catching threat. This signing makes too much sense, get it done Tanny.

So apparently he left Minny with a contract offer which says:

    A) it was a low ball deal

or B) He would rather be a Jet

Or he wants more guaranteed playing time-

    Which would be typical LT.

LT is one of the nicest, hardest working guys in the league.

Yeah, he had a down year last year, but he was playing in an offense which radically changed to a vertical passing oriented one while it used to be a run-first offense that revolved around him a few years ago, so his touches were down a bit.

And yeah, he may not be the same LT who was tearing up the league in his prime, but he'd still be a great leader and still has something left in the tank. He doesn't have that breakaway speed anymore, but he still has the vision to hit the hole and the agility/shiftyness to make guys miss and make runs longer. He'd do a lot better than he did last year behind our O-line. He may even match TJ's production.

The fact that LT still hits running holes with authority and can run in different directions besides going straight, I'd already consider him an upgrade over TJ. Jones was huge in our lockerroom too so losing him in that aspect was a blow, but bringing in a great vet like LT would soften that loss a ton.

I'd be down with LT as long as he's comfortable being 3rd string. This is Greene and Leon's show.

Reports said that the Vikes impressed LT.

I think he just wants to hear what both teams have to say

Preferrably no. I think Leon returns to form.

At his top form, he's still the number 3. Draws and screens are the best parts of his game, he is not an every down back. I think we saw the consequences of using him as a #2 this season. He's a great support player but he is not a solid #2. Maybe in Andy Reid's offense but that is nothing like what we run.

Before the leg injury I thought he was good for 100-130 carries. I think he'll return to form, and see him as more than a #3 back. He can't be the focal point of the offense, but I think he will be more than what you guys are saying. Time will tell.
