Something that's a bit weird is that I keep hearing Oliver Perez' velocity has dropped considerably without a real reason for it. He was a good pitcher when he was throwing a 95-96 sinking fastball, but I'm hearing reports he was down to as low as 83 MPH? Weird.
I'm not giving any props. I hate BOTH of them for reporting it and wish them bad luck with sports related events.
So in other words you are hoping the Mets and Jets (two teams you root for) fail miserably....Good job, we got a smart one here
Early reports say that it isn't going to require surgery and that he could be back as soon as next week Saw the news on ESPNews
On Sunday it was feared Tom Glavine might miss the rest of the season. Now, the veteran Mets left-hander might be on the mound as soon as next week. Sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney that an angiogram performed Monday revealed that Glavine has some small blood clots, which have been there for a period of time. This is actually good news, because it indicates his body has been dealing with this on its own. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2557206
Glavines good. Now Newsday and the Mets are reporting it  http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseb...0823,0,1543232.story?coll=ny-sports-headlines
Good news. Now, put him on the 15 day DL (retroactive to August 17), and bring up Oliver Perez to see what he can do and make him postseason eligible.
Why is anybody eager to see Perez pitch? I hope some of you guys end up eating your words about Glavine.
I am eager to see him pitch because the possibility of a tough lefty that could be used in the postseason would be great. Didn't say anything about Glavine other than that I'm glad to hear he's okay, so your second sentence doesn't apply to me.
