This is true, having worked in minor league baseball the clubhouse attendants who really have shitty jobs with little pay do get tipped and some cool perks from the players. I once knew a clubby who would go out with the starting pitchers who were off and they would pick up hot women for him to bag.

It's really strange to hear a Jets fan talk this way. This is the take of every single Pats fan on the subject....that it's jealousy.

There are two things you can't get around. First one has been pointed out.....that they dragged a rack of footballs into the bathroom AFTER they were inspected. The other thing is the texts. Brady saying...I think you're OK....Don't worry....You should be fine. Those are the texts of a person that knows they did something wrong.

But those were only minor things, didn't really effect the play on the field, he just likes his balls soft.

    Right?

    What a crock of shit.

If the refs hand you back 12 balls and you go into a bathroom and deflate all of them (i) you did it for a competitive advantage and (ii) it was a massive circumvention of the rules.

It'd be like a pitcher scuffing EVERY ball he pitched or EVERY batter corking his bat.

It wasn't one football for one play. It was EVERY football for EVERY play.

The Ravens lost by less than a touchdown to miss out on the AFC Champoionship Game.

If Brady is playing with legal balls, maybe they never GET to the AFC Championship game.

Only a Pats sympathizer defends this level of systematic cheating.

But it's par for this poster.

Brady lied, I have absolutely no doubt about that and for that he should be suspended. for what they actually did I don't think he should be suspended. it's a big issue b/c it's the Pats, if Geno did this last year no one would say a word.

I despise the Pats but are they taking away championships? No so why would I bother to just continue to bash them over such a minor issue? they won, they earned it and now let's look forward to 2015.

I do believe it stems from jealousy from fans across the Country, we all wish we had a team like NE. It's funny, when Braylon Edwards put lives on the line by driving drunk no one on this board wanted him suspended except for me but a slight deflation of footballs drives everyone crazy. I wonder why that is? all teams try to bend the rules, EVERY SINGLE OME OF THEM. were Jet fans going nuts over Sal Alosi? NO, they made excuses.

and if maybe it affected a VERY close Divisional game vs the Ravens....... you think it's the FIRST time this happened?

Baltimore fans are the ones who should be really pissed

Baltimore knew of it and didn't complain at all, the only reason Indy brought it up was to try to throw the Pats off. why do you think they waited until they were going to play again? it's gamesmanship, happens all the time. if it was an issue that had teams up in arms something would have been done much earlier.

Baltimore didn't lose b/c of slightly underinflated footballs.

There is only one reason to illegally deflate balls. Because it give the QB, the RBs, the WRs and TEs an unfair competitive advantage--especially the QB who handles the ball on every play. No matter how slight it may be, it's still an unfair competitive advantage on every single play that was gained AFTER the refs had handed back the balls--with no though that ANYONE would ever tamper with them.

This isn't a pitcher scuffing one ball to get an out or a batter using one corked bat to hit a homer--this was EVERY pitch or EVERY bat for duration of full games.

To say that the lie is worse than the systematic cheating is just a Pats fan trying to deflect away from the real issue.

If those balls gave Brady and Co even a 1% advantage on every play, that adds up to a SIGNIFICANT advantage.

Enough of an advantage to beat the Raven's by FOUR points.

If you don't think that's significant, you're either being intentionally obtuse of naive or both.

    Or a Pats defender.

why didn't Baltimore complain? why didn't other teams complain? why did Indy wait months to say something? Some of you folks are so naïve as to what goes on in these games. I get the hatred of NE, I hate them too. It sucks to have a main rival be a dynasty team we can't beat but at some point just let this nonsense go and move on. all teams try to find any way to gain an edge.

Why is the rule a rule than? We should just play the game however we like, right?

yeah, they should make the Patriots replay that game without cheating. Maybe take the win away until they prove they woulda won it anyway. I agree

as long as they make Baltimore replay w/o cheating too.

if Baltimore felt NE won b/c of that they would at least have let the league know. it is an incredibly minor issue.

When players in other sports illegally manipulate equipment or use illegal equipment, they are immediately thrown out of the game and suspended.

Baseballs, corked bats, nail files, spit, vaseline, curved hockey sticks, goalie pads, lacrosse sticks, golf balls, golf clubs.
