Don't forget the fact that they fired the two ball boys. Clearly they didn't do anything but it warranted them being fired.

I think that is Tom's only avenue. These guys did it, I didn't know anything about it. The texts are damning but if it comes down to his word vs. theirs, he has a chance at a reduction.

    Not likely, but still possible.

Tommy already shot himself in the foot from his press conference to feign not knowing the balls weren't how he wanted them. The only way for him to dig himself out of this is to build a time machine and go back to 2007.

His words at the time, then post, then at SB and further have been full of lies. He's a liar

Luckily for Tom* he is at the only franchise who could hope to achieve this, what with Bills* expertise in science and all

I saw one thing online from a Boston outlet that said it was coming down either today or tomorrow. Today (Tuesday) is a big news day that could cushion the story. It would take a back seat to the Iran agreement which is controversial and hugely political. One thing and I hope he gets the 4 games and hate Brady's attitude and resistance. He thinks just because he has the money and can buy the best lawyers he can get his way and not pay what was a reasonable penalty. I don't want to see him in uniform opening day. That seems to mean a lot to him. Any suspension has to include opening day.

NFLPA saying it will take the case to federal court if Brady gets any games remaining on his suspension.

I could see it playing out like that. Brady and the NFLPA battling it out over this for the whole season. In the meantime Brady plays all year while its being appealed, retires in the offseason before he ever sees a punishment

And the ball boys/lockerroom attendants are subpoenaed and forced to testify under oath, as is Belichick. Maybe some phone records are discovered.

    Love it.

Nothing like a Hail Mary idol threat to try and dissuade the inevitable punishment.

I want to see Brady take the stand under oath and perjure himself.

Brady lied, no doubt about it but he lied about a very minor issue. this story is so incredibly overblown. Just pure jealousy(and we should be jealous of what he and NE have done as we have never seen anything like it here).

A pure jealousy thing? Yeah, the NFL decided to run a full investigation out of pure jealousy for the Patriots. I wish the Jets could also bend the rules too, that's what I am jealous about. Let me ask, are you a Patriots fan?

Systematic manipulation of every football used in a game AFTER they have been weighed by the refs is not a "minor issue".

It is cheating in the purest sense of the word.

The lying about it was to cover up the systematic cheating. Wasn't NEARLY as bad as the actual cheating.

Brady fans unite in his defense!

That has already been established in multiple threads lauding Brady.

No, I am a rational(sometimes) adult. trophies aren't being taken away, this issue is so incredibly minor but jealous fans of other teams are thinking about it 24 hrs a day. a slight deflation of a football had nothing to do w/ NE winning yet another SB. we need to get over this and worry about our own team.

the Jets DO bend the rules, ALL teams do. Remember Sal Alosi? think that was an isolated incident? there are others we haven't been caught for, don't be naïve.

Haha didn't think Sal Alosi was an isolated thing until I saw him go to UCLA and get into more trouble. Now I think Sal could have easily come up with the idea to trip up a player on his own.

Why wouldn't he battle it out in court? The courts have DESTROYED the NFL in recent years with appeals the latest example being the Hardy one going from 10 to 4 games.

Honestly I'd be stunned if this wasn't reduced to at least 2 before court (and probably expunged when it gets there), but we'll see if Goodell's gutless enough to expunge it himself. If nothing else Brady should get a game or two for obstructing an investigation.

Holy crap way to backtrack to the beginning of this argument with that weak sauce that systematic deflation of a ALL of the footballs for who knows how long had nothing to do with the Pats cheating their way to a SB.

    The Ravens say hi.

That's a Pats fan talking right there.
