I hear you, but in this case I wasn't concerning myself with them. Regarding this whole deflategate nonsense: had Brady simply owned it from the beginning and said he told the ball handlers to drop the p.s.i. to the low legal limit of 12.5 and contritely added: "and if they ended up 'slightly' lower then that, then my bad…and I take responsibility for that…and I'm sorry" then he/Pats are hit with a fine and it's yesterday's news. The ill-played contentiousness and the unnecessary stonewalling cost them a 1st and a 4th round pick and a suspension. In between the two different schools of thought ("suspend him!" vis-a-vis "no big deal"), it was stupidly handled from the get-go by a supposed standard-bearer franchise and should've been more adroitly addressed and put to bed weeks ago. Instead they're now having to waste more time and money trying to untangle themselves from this not to mention fracturing the organization's relationship with the Commissioner's office as well as probably sparking some privately held ill will among some of the other owners who are sick and tired of the extended bad NFL press this continues to produce.
I agree, but the fly in the ointment is the ballboy taking the balls illegally from the refs and sneaking into the bathroom.
why stop there? how about pass interference gate for the Jets -- too many flags in the history of the franchise to call out. holding gate -- again, too many to specify each one. Illegal use of the hands gate -- can't recall the specifics, but I'm sure the Jets have been called once or twice for this as well. cheaters!!!
I've got a weight loss plan for you to try .... It's called The Patriot Way 4 game suspension $1 million fine Lost 1st and 4th round picks Four permanent ****s And they're still lying their asses off. You support a team of liars, cheats, and classless murderers. Nobody respects you. Beat it.
Lol hey what happened to the days of classy murderers anyway, I heard Ted Bundy was a perfect gentleman J/k
Ding ding ding..... these ball boys whom one is on video illegally taking the balls into the restroom were only suspended by the Pats and not fired. Could that be some sort of sympathy, well we set you up by making you the man to break the rules but we feel bad you got caught so we can't fire you.
Nah, the problem is that they are too busy lying about what happened they can't also discipline him, that would be admitting he did something against the rules. They had three choices: deny anything happened, admit he did it at Brady's request or say he did it on his own with no direction. They obviously aren't going t admit he did it at Brady's request and even the biggest idiot Pats fan is going to at least have an element of a thought of "why would he have done it on his own?" so they only option left to them is deny anything happened. Keep in mind I'm not supporting them on this, just given that they are already a pack of liars and cheats they aren't going to be honest about something that corrupts their lie.
One other thing about the P*ts actions, immediately after the Wells Report came out they indefinitely suspended McNally and Jastremski. Why would they do this if they are claiming the "deflator" was talking about weight and had nothing to do with deflating balls. This was not a league suspension, the P*ts did it on their own If no one ever illegally deflated balls why did they suspend these 2 without pay, indefinitely?
No shit Sherlock, but it's still tampering with the balls and is illegal. All they got was a verbal warning.
Maybe it's because they didn't try to cover it up and also didn't already have a past violation for blatant cheating. The Pats could have gotten away with probably a simple fine if Brady had just come clean but instead it was a mockery of a press conference with him lying about not knowing who the ball boys were, joking about feeling balls, then that sham science conference by Belichick, then Kraft demanding an apology from the league, then obstructing the investigation at the team and player levels. You are being purposefully ignorant as to why we are at this point Face it, your team got busted cheating, and tried to bluff their way out of it and the NFL called their bluff
Imagine the Pats try to take this to federal court and the NFL produces proof in court that they taped the Rams walkthrough along with the supposedly destroyed Spygate tapes?
We can only hope goodell had the wits to save the tapes and stick it to those scumbags. I would love it..
that would never happen because it would be bad for business. and the autho..... i mean the nfl cant have that!
I was at a baseball game last night and there was a guy walking around in a Brady jersey, with a football and an air pump in his hands. The crowd loved it
yup. this isn't difficult to understand. pats fans who fail to acknowledge that the cover up is bigger than the crime and they're repeat offenders are either in denial or really stupid. I'll also repeat this part for the pats fan who refuses to acknowledge it. the pats WERE warned for illegal game balls in the past. derp.
Sal Alosi tripped a player during a game and Jeff Blake admitted to paying ball boys to let air out of the footballs. Not sure how you consider that trivial. What about Lester Haynes and Jerry Rice covering themselves in stickum? All teams in the NFL will do anything to win.
They got a verbal warning because both teams did it in that one lone game and there was no conspiracy to run an end around on the rules. The P*triots have been deflating for years, have multiple prior instances of cheating and impeded the investigation while feigning indignation. First time offenders get warned, repeat offenders get hammered, as it should be.
