I don't blame the Pats for moving Cassell given the fact that they wouldve gotten nothing for him if they let him leave after this season and he couldve easily jumped to the Jets or Bills and tore up the Pats seconary for anoth 5-6 years. W/ that said, It maybe something that comes back and bites them in the butt. Teams have realized that the way to truly stop New England's offense and Brady is to apply significant pressure. That means that Brady will be taking ALOT of hits..and any QB in that situation is more exposed to an injury(not that they all arent). O'connell looks decent long term...but if he has to start any games this season it could get ugly.
That is sort of like saying that humans have figured out that breathing helps one stay alive. I hate to pick but isn't putting pressure on the QB a fundimental football procedure needed to win? Just saying.
Isn't that basically applicable to any quarterback though? If he has less options and less time to throw, he will do worse just like anyone. Every team sets out with that intention but only some can actually do it.
